Cellphone Use Concerns and Experiment

The Blue Bugler
So, I'm sitting here at 2 AM on Easter morning, and I've realized something. I have become addicted to my phone, and it has definitely caused me some problems. My sleep schedule is non-existent, I'm constantly taking too long on my homework, I get distracted on apps such as Twitter and YouTube which ultimately waste my day away, It takes away time that I could be using to draw, and constantly being on the internet has made me tremendously susceptible to lust which has been an ongoing struggle for me for awhile. This also inhibits my ability to process information and to think of new art ideas as well as the ability execute them in a timely manner. So, definitely a big problem. Therefore, while my mind was active, I took the liberty to write down some rules concerning my phone use in the hopes that it may improve my psychological health and my sleep schedule as well.
Malakar's Personal Cellphone Use Rules:
1. No phone use after 9 pm. This rule can only be void if used to contact family or for something useful like prayer.
2. No phones in the bathroom
3. Do not touch phone until homework is finished. Only exceptions are if family calls or if you need to look up homework answers while out and about
4. Your phone is a phone. Use it to socialize, and not to waste time
5. Focus mode on Sundays. Take a day off from the device in order to regain your situational awareness, and to appreciate God and God's great Earth. Only use phone for calls from family
6. Make it a goal to use your phone as little as possible throughout the day. Talking to friends and family is fine and encouraged, but try to stay tuned with life and the time, and don't waste your day away on social media apps like Twitter
I'm really hoping this will mitigate some of my issues and help with my poor time management and self control skills as writing things down often helps me remember them. I'll probably write another blog a week later with an update on my progress as it will be quite interesting to see what happens.
If you do something similar, if this inspires you to do something similar, or if you think this whole thing is just dumb, feel free to let me know in the comments. See yall around!
