>be me, a russkie
>state employee, work in a circuit court (sort of)
>it's April 29th, Friday
>9th of May is russian victory day, state holiday
>boss tells that employees have to participate in a public event (on our day off)
>"not mandatory but you all better come, or else"
>suspect there's gonna be some anti-ukraine war-related narrative bound to the holiday
>strictly refuse to participate and go back to work
>5 minutes later get called to talk to the boss
>get screamed at for "disrespecting our ancestors who fought nazis the same way we fight nazism near our borders today"
>explain that I keep my mind free from state propaganda and refuse to have anything to do with Z-fascism\putinism
>get told he'll sic the cops on me for "anti-governmental thinking"
>go back to my office to write my 14-day notice letter
>get called by boss' assistant
>asked me to forget what we've been talking about and just get back to work, promising no actions to be taken against me, and to have a talk on 4th of May
Welp, probably about time to start looking for a new profession...

Алсо, у нас в городе за "дискредитацию" загребли:
1) чувака, который раздавал книжки оруэлла 1984
2) чувака с плакатом "стоп фашиzм"
охуенная такая "дискредитация" :'D
forgetting there free speech privilege they carry. Takes actual bravery to do that there , but couch keyboard warrior will still tell you deserve the sanctions.
If you want specific examples NFKRZ has been insulted and called a coward for leaving his country and not die in an attempt to overthrow his gov.
I've heard that that the propaganda out there is getting into people, but your boss is fucking brainwashed! Glad to hear you won't be at any related event, I've already heard plenty rumors that there's a several bombing plots about to happen at 9th, so to hear you'll be safe brings me a bit of relief
Kinda feels worse to me than being just "brainwashed", eh.
I'm not against someone being grateful for help, but that help shouldn't be contingent on/rely on kickbacks after-the-fact. Monetary paying-back (loans/etc aside)
I wish there was a way to avoid good people getting caught up in this shitfest, but reality is messy and imperfect.
But even if our current "president" keels over and dies, it's gonna be another case of "meet the new boss; same as the old boss".
And your boss's comments about you... just ridiculous. First of all, the Nazis are dead, or at least so few in number that it would be foolish to say they have any measurable power or influence today--they are effectively extinct, and their ideology is universally (and deservingly) disliked across the globe. "Mr. Bald Guy" might be authoritarian, but how can he still claim the Ukrainian government is overrun with Nazis and expect the Russian people to believe him? Apparently, he won over your boss, either because he really is that stupid or he's just trying to cover his ass from the Kremlin. Either way, it's bad and your boss should've just tried to help you out. Second of all, "anti-government" is very vague. It could mean anarchy (no government), Libertarianism (small/"only-appropriate" government), or simple dissent. Just because you don't like the way the current government is run or don't like a decision it has made, that does not mean you are flat-out willing to attack the government physically in effort to supplant it. I'm sure there are Russians that WANT "Mr. Bald Guy" to do the right thing and do well as a leader, but he just won't because he's a tyrannical asshole who doesn't care at all about his people.
I'm aware of the difficulty in trying to leave Russia (many Russian artists lost a lot trying to flee), but if you've ever considered emigrating, America will welcome you with open arms. You'll have more freedoms here than you likely will anywhere else in the world.
Always--ALWAYS--separate the people from their government. The Russian government is to blame for this, not its people.
