I don't really keep up with what's going on in the fandom and keep mostly to myself other than occasionally commissioning art, but from what I have seen its mostly just NSFW feral art that people are against or at least speaking out more about. Especially if its feral x anthro/human.

Just noticed that your journal did say nsfw, must of skimmed over that part. And like the person said below it was around 2020. I saw most people speaking out against it on Twitter (whenever I actually scrolled through, not really active on there) and a couple of journals about it on here. But now a days, not much is said about it, or at least not that I'm seeing.

It's definitely not the norm. Some people are very vocal about it and like to pretend that it's the majority, but it's maybe 10% of people at most. The vast majority of people just don't care tbh. It really blew up around 2020 and has been dying down in the following years...

id really like for that to be the case. theres a current stink about it on twitter, but i didnt consider that to be the Actual furry fandom whatsoever. so i joined a chill furry (nsfw) discord server and when i mentioned feral nsfw they went nuts. saying how they couldnt imagine anyone condoning it ect ect. it was so bizarre but i was thinking that maybe im just out of touch.

Well don't worry, it's not that hard to find communities fine with it. Some aren't, and they're just not worth your time. I'm also fairly sure it's very localized to twitter at this point: having not used (or ever intending to use) twitter, I have not been given shit by even one person on this website, even with my feral content being a degree beyond most peoples' risque limits, heh.

eeeh to the best of my knowledge, it is NOT the norm to bash ferals. i mean, a gooood chunk of the community started and is based on feral fictional characters (lion king, spirit of the cimaron, any number of disney "evil" dragons, and so on). so i'd say no, it is not normal. just haters hating

I don't think i've noticed much difference. Except that exodus drama some time ago, when a certain site tried to hype it up to get viewers to move there. I think in the end that site turned into a ghost town, like all FA alternatives inevitably do (except inkbunny).

Ohhh man i remember that site. just for the sake of curiosity i tried to visit it and it ends in a 500 server error every time. i guess it kicked the bucket? id love for a much more modern fA alternative to pop up, but then again i guess the'd have more "modern" rules like the dead one

Ehhh, i think there's been a bit of a shift, but more so on twitter- which is honestly a whole other side to the fandom in itself.

Most of us started of with ferals: lion king, Balto, Spirit and so forth, so the majority of furrys dont particularly have an issue with feral stuff, but there was a whole witch-hunt thing going on over at twitter to try and label feral NSFW artists as Zoos. Its mostly calming down now, but still seems to pop up now and again.

thats exactly what im saying. ferals is where we got our start as a collective but people are suppper quick to forget that apparently? when i mentioned that to the group of "furries" who were getting on me about feral, they just ignored it and kept arguing. its suuuuch a pointless witch hunt and im worried that mentality is spreading
