Mah Petey Bird died today.

I knew she was old, we saw signs she was getting old. I just wish I could have seen her one last time.

Petey Bird was a white and blue-spotted parakeet. My step-dad came in with her, one day. He'd found her out in the yard, bald. She'd been picked clean by other birds. So we gave her a cage and took care of her from then on. I'd say, it's been roughly 9 years we've had her.
We actually didn't know she was a girl until we took her to the vet for some care. We'd assumed she was a guy and named him Petey. Petey Bird~ A play on the "Pretty Bird~".
My mom and sister kept me updated on her. Even though I'm half a world away, and haven't been a part of her life since '04. I still feel upset. I loved that little bird.
At least she died in the care of a loving family.
