Heat Wave Rave
I haven't updated for a while, not that anyone cares. But yeah, been super hot here of late, hotter than the surface of the sun really. The heatwave been going on for months with almost every day going well above 100°. Just absolutely baking. We did get a little bit of rain last week but nothing for months.
Last Saturday it hit 108. Then 109 Sunday, where it the so called storm gave us literally a few drops. The only good thing was a little relief from the cloud cover. I was able to do a some yard work but not that much.
Between a Rock and Hard Place
Last week, a rock hit my windshield of my car, leaving a crescent shape crack that quickly grew to half the width of the windshield. What a bother. It is not big enough to get the windshield replaced just yet but it something I have to take care of eventually.
The rock seemed to either been kicked up but a truck or few out of the bed of it. Don't know as it happened too quick. I did saw a blur out of the corner of my eye just before the loud smack from the impact, which occurred toward the passenger side.
Water Water Nowhere, Everything did Shrink
On top of that, the freaking water went out of Friday. The main pump of the city well burned out, Leaving our small town of under 9000 dry. The backup pump was out for repair and the backup well had a previously undetected leak that completely drained it. What a mess. The city did provide some bottled water but it was still a pain to deal with. The water did slowly came back on the following day but a boil noticed was issued due to the low pressure. That ended today so there is that.
I Would Forget My Head too if It Wasn't Currently Attached
Speaking of today, I forgot to take my wallet when I went to work. I was planing on going grocery shopping after finishing work. I would say "When it rains, it pours" but it has been so dry there that such an event would be welcome indeed.
Oh well, I hate to imagine what will happen next. It is supposed to cool down a little but not going last as the heat will go on unabated till the end of time or who knows how long.
Give Me Full Power!
Our power grid is holding on but barely so far. Not sure how much more it can take. Been breaking all kinds of record on power draw of late. Solar is helping out, doing an increasing amount of the load. The wind turbines did help too but the winds have died down. I fear the dreaded rolling blackouts will start sooner or later. Madness!
Cooldown Lowdown
As for progress on my fursuit, I bought some more fans for the head. I been using a small 40mm fan for a while now. It doesn't do much but what little air it does more helps a surprising amount. I can wear the head for much longer than without the tiny fan. I accidentally unplugged it a few times and I can notice the difference quite quickly.
I gone ahead and bought more 5V DC fans to make the airflow between. I am modeling mounts so I can fit two 50mm fans, each of them to the side of the inner part of my maw instead of the smaller one directly in front. The original fan was just attached using Velcro fasteners and hot glue, the later getting so hot that it soften enough to detach from the foam a few times. So I had to wedge it back in there, hence the new design using a 3D printed mount to give it more surface area for better attachment, at least I hope it so anyway.
I should have it finished and put to use by ACFI in October. I hope much sooner as I plan on attending a local meet soonish. I also hope to make my paws by then too. That is the next step in completing my fursuit. I want to eventually make a fullsuit too.
Spreading the Disea... Joy, Yeah
I also am designing and making a fursuit accessory thing for someone else too. Not quite ready to reveal it just yet. I may slap some progress pics if I am not feeling so lazy and all that. I still have to take pics and post the con swag I got from TFF this year. Not a whole lot of stuff but at least something to post. I haven't post anything in quite a while. >..> We shall see. Think that is everything. I am sure I forgot something... as per my usual.
Lest I Forget
Oh, I almost forgot. I did got myself another 3D printer (two in fact). I already started to write about it... and promptly left it unfinished. I'll finsih it up and post it next... if I don't forget about it again. I am bad about that... um, what are we talking about again? Oh yeah, the new printer. Stay tuned for that. Should be up before the turn of the century I am sure.

Hopefully the upcoming cons and the second 3D printer will make up for the streak of bad luck that has hit the dragon.
Maybe a small bolt of lightning got your windshield. I am sure it wasn't me... I mean you are too far away... I mean there wasn't some sort of undue experiment of craziness that was performed recently... no sirree. That was some nasty rumors I am sure.
I am making progress with the dual fan mount design for the head. I am pretty confident the twin 50mm fans would be a huge improvement over that single 40mm. How can it not be.
I also got a banging deal on some tubular shaped powerbanks. I have some already and they fit nicely in my pocket. I have big plans for them so it is nice to have extra while they are still available and all that.
