Depends a lot on what you want to portray with your drawings. At some point, artists branch off from the basics and learn different colouring techniques, anatomy, textures etc. because they don't all want to communicate the same thing.

Maybe if you work out the mood you want for your drawings in general or for a specific piece, you can work out what you need to practice to get there. Like more realistic textures and anatomy, or keep going cartoony but with hyper-real backgrounds. If you don't really know which way to go, experimenting is always a good option. Find what you like and what not.

Perhaps studying more flora and fauna would be good for backgrounds with more life. Or maybe you can practice turning your artwork into black and white to check values and trying to refine those.

But that's just my random thoughts B) Cheers!
