Life Update - Housing's a BITCH yo

And yet another page in the Rinkan Memoir
Alright so I've been rather silent for a while now. Figured I should probably say something so you know I didn't like get kidnapped in Indiana or something. I made it to Chicago and I'm officially here.
That said - nothing's perfect. I should already have known that knowing how my life always goes but hey. I'm already driving 1000 miles northwest I figured what's worse than backroads off I-64 in West Virginia right?
Well TL;DR the house my roommates and I were set to have? We didn't get it. Rented out from underneath us for whatever reason legal or otherwise but still 100% shitty. We're not homeless thank goodness. But conditions will be a little cramped for the short term. I've got employment now, and I think I'm already loving where I am despite only having had training and been invited out to meet most of the coworkers outside the office.
Like everything else in life - it ain't perfect at face value. But I'll get through it, and will probably have a better appreciation for it going forward. But for now? I'm officially in Chicago. I drive in Chicago. I'll be working in Chicago and I'm gonna love it and make the best of it.
Thank you for the kind wishes from before the trip - now wish me luck I don't mess it up and have to hightail it at the first opportunity LOL
