We had feeder for the birds in the back yard, but took it down because there was a sick bird in the area. Now the big Eurasian collared doves don't know what to do when coming in for a landing and end up, very awkwardly, on over burdened sunflowers.
The lesser goldfinches are also having a time munching on all the sunflower seeds.

Birdfeeders from what i've read can indeed help spread avian diseases, I'd spread the feed on the ground if there is any around. Sunflowers are awesome for just this kind of thing.

You should dress up like a sunflower & stand very still to see if one will land on you :3
