Now, I know sites that do not charge rely on ads for revenue. I'm alright with that, really. Sometime I even BUY from such places.
BUT... if the product or service is worth ANYTHING, it will "sell itself" and even if I don't consciously see it, it is still there.
HOWEVER, I loathe, with a BURNING PASSION the eyeball-hijacking CRAP-SPAM that require animation/blinking/etc. And I have an extension that allows to block such things. It annoys me to need to deploy or engage it, but BlinkenScheisse only gets to annoy me ONCE. THEN. IT. DIES! Static ads live. Blinkenshit DIES! IF that costs a company their EXISTENCE... well, maybe their REPLACEMENTS will not be so stupid! Call it... EVOLUTION! If your product or service is so atrociously craptastically, dung-sucking bad that you NEED to animate it (withOUT my consent - my clicking on a video to see its another matter) I will vote with my Dollars (or Euros or Shekels or Gold or...) and I WILL VOTE for SOMEONE ELSE.

I support the use of add blocker software. Adds on the internet have become too invasive and obstructive.

Aye. I am an Ancient Creature remember usenet before GREEN CARD LOTTERY. It was... if not glorious, at least not too bad. Even the alt.sex.* groups policed themselves and "wannas" (and worse) got HAMMERED into oblivion. Canter and Siegel have LOADS to answer for. No, they weren't the first, but they Opened the Doors of Hell, the ratfinks.
