Things I'm finding out about Iceland.

1) Some hotels need you to slide in a room key card in the wall in order to get the lights and outlets to work.
2) At stoplights a yellow light briefly shows between the time red switches to green.
3) Hotels don't seem to have those little bars of soaps provided.
4) The hot dogs can be served with crunchy onions.
5) Half of the fun is meeting people from other places. Besides Americans, I've met some Irish folks, Canadian, Bermudan, English, Portuguese, Spanish, Polish, Czech Republic, German, Belgian. Ukrainian.
That's all I can think of for now. I'm goin to bed.

It's weird but useful as you don't lose a card key.
Again it's to try to prevent folks losing their key but it also keeps you from leaving lights on or charging stuff when you go out.
You're suppose to charge laptops, phones and tablets at night so they don't go "missing".
"Pesky tourists wasting our money they pay us on electricity!"
2. Wait.... so lights in Iceland go Red Yellow Green AND Green Yellow Red?
3. Huh... okay. There's still places where you can get your own right?
4. Cool if you're into that.
5. Sounds pretty cosmopolitan nice.
I'm actually starting to be able to pick out Americans overseas, and one way is the baseball style caps we wear. Some of us have a bit of a paunch (believe me, they have fat Icelanders too), and of course, the accents.
He's...........different! ;D
Sorta makes sense though, as it ensures that folks don't leave lights on or appliances running when there's no one in the room. And it helps keep guests from misplacing the cards somewhere in the room.
NOTE: in the rooms wuffy has found these, they didn't actually need the "keycard" - - any equivalent card could be slotted in to enable the function. Those credit card-style "loyalty" cards for restaurants and other shops would work as well.
Now I WANT hot dogs with crunchy onions! ( ^ (oo) ^ )
I'm glad you're having fun over there, don't forget to make some videos.
