He's openly stated and shown he wants the glories of the former Soviet Union again with the powers of Stalin (Without Joe's hyperly extreme paranoia in wiping out his own military leaders like he did in the Purge of 1937/38.).

But Mad Vlad is willing to "Damn the torpedoes " attitude and approach. He succeeded in the 2008 against Georgia with a stunning 8 day war, and again in 2014 against Crimea and bloody battles against the Chechnyians in 2000.
