Moving Accounts and Update
3 years ago
Hello all!
I know I have been inactive here for a long time and I'm sorry about that. The main thing about it has been trying to reconnect with art and learning to enjoy it again, as well as coping with tendinitis that I developed over the course of the job I had (and recently got laid off from).
The job I had for 5 years there also took a lot out of me mentally and physically. Its there working at that warehouse that I developed tendinitis, and it has been difficult to come to terms with it and figure out how to do art in a way that doesn't hurt me or make my injury any worse. It was disheartening and I didn't know how to go forward. For years I just did small sketches in my notebook here and there. Then I met my current girlfriend who is a huge furry and she has given me the motivation to draw again through encouragement and love of my art. The few people I did commissions for during this time were also a huge boost to my morale and ultimately my decision to come back.
Well, this last month (and September), I tried to draw almost every day! Just missed one day in October, and a few weeks in September due to Splatoon 3 coming out lol, but ultimately I've found a rigorous routine that I can get my stretching in and work around my injury! I can also tell through this routine if I can draw for long periods of time on a given day. If I can't get my warm-ups done without drawing from my wrist, then I'm probably gonna have a hard time drawing that day and can do some light sketching but will ultimately pass and do something less intense for myself. Most days I'm good though! And its been making me really happy to be able to see several art projects through privately without posting them.
I want to share them with people again because I'm proud, and not because I feel like I have to. But I also want to start fresh. I love my username. But also knowing the history of this account and others is holding me back a bit. So I have made new ones to brand myself a bit better and more succinctly.
I want to distance myself from this account though and want to be somewhat private about it so you can't find my long history of internet accounts quite so easily from just following a link trail, so I will have to ask that you send me a note asking for my new account and I will gladly give it to anyone who asks, I just don't want random travelers following me at first again just to ditch the old username a bit.
I won't be deactivating this account, I want to keep it up because there is some old artwork I no longer have the original files of, but I want be using it anymore and will just be checking for notes to give my new account to.
Again, I will give my new account to anyone who wants it, I just don't want to link directly to this page or to that one, mainly for personal reasons.
For anyone who wants to follow me to my new adventures, I'm excited and happy to have you come with me! I'm happy and nervous to be back, and once I'm doing art more stablely (longer than 1 month, somewhat continuously) I will likely open my commissions again in a slow trickle if there is interest (or potentially sooner!) :3
Thanks for taking the time to read all of this! I had to get some of it off my chest haha getting back into social media in a more involved way is a big step for me as I somehow developed a large anxiety around it in the time I was gone ;v;
