Anatomy of Otter-Sneks
The following is a brief summary of the Otter-Snek species created by the Board of Intergalactic Sciences for public consumption.
Overview
The Otter-Snek (also known as a Snek or just an Otter) are a species of river otters named for their fur patterns reminiscent of the Snivy evolution line. All members of this species share a single consciousness and identity (ARL-Snek or just Snek). At any given time the majority of the Otter-Sneks reside on the species' home planet while "active" members of the species venture off-planet. When an "active" Otter-Snek is killed a replacement is teleported near to the area where it died shortly there after.
Home Planet
The home planet of the Otter-Sneks is an earth-like world with an equal balance of fresh water and land. Its only native life are Otter-Sneks and freshwater fish. A number of urban settlements dot the planet, providing modern infrastructure for the inhabitants. The Otter-Snek's ability to reproduce asexually if need be means the Otter-Snek population of the planet can be easily maintained at 10 billion.
Public safety notice!
It has become an open secret that smugglers and those with nefarious intentions occasionally visit the "Otter Planet" to collect and/or exploit the local Otter-Snek population. To this end the Otter-Snek inhabitants have developed rudimentary military technology (interwar shit at best lmao -Editor Paul) with the aim of defending their species and planet. As such any visitors to the planet (especially macros) should make their intentions known before entry.
Infestations
There are rare occasions where one or more Otter-Sneks, besides the "active" members of the species, find themselves off their home planet. This is usually the result of botched smuggling operations. In most cases these Otter-Sneks will find ways to return to their home planet. In the cases of macro settlements, however, Otter-Sneks will often establish a small camp and begin reproducing. A situation such as this is considered an infestation. If you suspect you may have an Otter-Snek infestation contact your local authorities, as legal methods for handling these infestations will vary based on local law.
