The drivers on disk are usually out of date and unstable. Getting a fresh set from the OEM website is usually a good choice.

Also, *uninstall* any previous tablet drivers before plugging in the new one. Wacom in particular doesn't play nice with others on the same system, so uninstall and reboot before installing new. (Tech from that big software company in Redmond, WA)

Definitely listen to Flinters. Uninstall all previous tablet drivers, reboot/restart (not shutdown), and then install new drivers from the original manufacturer's site is the best approach.

Do you wish to run the drawing tablet as mirrored/duplicate to your computer screen, only external screen, or extended / second screen? Extended is usually the preferred option. WINkey+P will bring up your presentation options to choose from.

Color calibration is another challenge. There are free 3rd party utilities that will show you a square of what it thinks is pure white. You hold up a sheet of white paper next to it and use the utility to adjust color tints to match your paper. It saves that monitor as a color profile that loads when you start your PC. You can do that for each monitor it you want, but the drawing tablet monitor is the important one.

There are hardware versions top like the Spyder, and I have used them, but they went to subscription models or forced end of life and upgrade for pay. Bleah.

What new tablet are you received?

As long as it's not the exact same tablet you'll probably be fine with the downloaded ones. If you have issues make sure to check settings like windows ink on or off cause that can cause a lot of weird issues depending on the program. I've used Huion (multiple tablets), XP-Pen, and Wacom all on Windows 10 and 11 without any issues so I think you should be good as long as it's a good name brand :3

U can buy a cd driver for like 20 bucks

Getting the drivers from the maker's website is your best bet. You don't need the CD. It probably has the bare bones compatibility and that's it.
