So Am I...

I will never get tired of that video. It drags me clawing and screaming back to the days of Naruto AMVs and people recording their screens with digital cameras as they scream at 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent'.
Anyway, now that the 'ha-ha funny video' is out of the way, this journal is more of a vent than anything else. I've been trying to contact an artist regarding an unfinished $157 commission from a year ago, and though this artist has recently been active again, both here and on Twitter, they've yet to reply to any of my messages. I'd like to state that I'm not angry with this artist, and I'll be excluding their name from this journal to prevent any sort of harassment. I'm just confused. Our interactions were cordial, and they seemed to be happy about working on the project, so I have no idea why they decided to go silent.
The notes I've sent are unopened, despite the artist being active again, so I'm guessing they've seen them in the inbox and simply not opened them. Another theory is that their inbox is full of other notes, and they've yet to find mine, though I find this unlikely.
I'd understand if they got busy with life or if something else happened that required them to step away from the internet for a while, and I've been working under the assumption that this is what happened. However, a year without any form of an update or a simple heads-up is somewhat ridiculous, especially after I've paid $157 for their services. I'm also starting to wonder if I've somehow managed to upset them, though I have no idea how I'd have done that. We've only spoken via notes, and all our conversations (which I've now archived) prior to them going silent were cordial and commission related.
So yeah, I'm just confused about the whole ordeal. I'm hoping they'll reach out to me soon, and I've sent a message to one of their artist friends over on Twitter with the hope that they'll get them to contact me, but we'll see what happens there.
I've never really had to deal with something like this before, so I'm just hoping that I'm handling the situation correctly. I may also reach out to other people who've commissioned this artist to see if they've had similar issues.
~ANYWAY~
In less vent-y news, I should have more Tyranid gals to share soon! It'll be the last batch from the FANTASTIC Sketchy-Vagrant-Joe (who you should totally check out over on HF, they seriously make some amazing stuff!) and it's looking great so far! I really am happy with the work he's done, and I seriously can't wait to share it with you.
Anyone who can guess the line-up will win an extra ration of corpse-starch!

FA+

I'm a patient person, but a year is pushing it for me.
And again, I want to stress that I'm not angry at the artist. All I want is some sort of response.
I may try and hit up the other people who commissioned them and see if they've been having similar issues, and I may attempt to contact some more of the artist's mutuals to see if they can get in touch with them. Of course, I'll just go public if I continue to get no response, but that's really the last thing I want to do. I've been debating on whether or not to make this journal for a while now because I don't like drama/callouts, but I really didn't know what else I could do at this stage.
Bleh.
But again, thank you, and I'm sorry you and I don't talk too often!
It's really admirable that you've been this patient and reasonable, and it'll be a damn shame if it comes to having to expose them. Honestly, I don't think I would have been able to hold out this long. I don't like causing a stink, but I'll do it if I've been pushed far enough.
It's ok to post vent journals; they can help a lot. Getting those feelings out before the shit hits the fan (whether it does or not) helps to keep you grounded and courteous. For me, it adds a realness to the situation that makes it too big to hold on to but small enough to fade away.
You're welcome, and it's alright; I have a hard time keeping up with others myself. You're always welcome to DM me both here and on Discord.
Also, I do like some more tyranid hotties. And we got that new space marine game coming out too this year certainly helps sate our needs. 8)
As for the Tyranids, I'm glad you like them! I've not been following the new game too closely, but I did see the big reveal trailer, and I thought it looked OK. I like how the Tyranids look and the city setting is great. I'm just paranoid that they're going to do a 'classic' Warhammer game twist and have the ACTUAL bad guys turn out to be Chaos, which is something they tend to do a LOT in 40k games. On the other hand, there's a chance we might see some Genestealer Cult action due to the city setting, so that could be fun.
I guess we'll see!
The next batch should be done soon-ish and features some of the bigger Nids (no Hierophants, but still pretty chonky!) so I'm eager to share them! I've also got a similar project in the works with another fantastic artist, with more of a sexy pin-up vibe, and so far I'm pretty happy with how those are turning out! I doubt they'll be ready to share anytime soon, as the artist is quite busy, but I'm sure they'll be worth the wait.
