I was thinking about continuing to do my old iron artist challenge, which had slots for $10... The problem is, the way I did them before took too long. D: I wish I could just make myself draw FASTER >O Even chibis can take a long time. I'm trying to think of ways to make things fast and high quality which is tricky. xD Haha

It's really hard to set prices. I worked hard with a couple friends in the past and it never works out well, especially if they want to make a living at it. $30-40 for art is pretty affordable and a good way to get customers. There's some artist I'd love to work with but I can't afford to drop $100 or more unless very, very rarely.
I'd love to get stuff from you at some point, but I also have a few artists that I've become a regular for. I've definitely earmarked you to eventually get stuff, though!

To give productive feedback, you probably could charge more for a ref sheet - most people charge $100, but if you went anywhere between $50-80 depending on how much you had to come up with would be reasonable. For chibi art that takes an hour or so to do, $20 is probably pretty reasonable. Looking at your Commissions tab, it's pretty fair what you have there. Then it's a game of running sales and seeing if you get any bites if you're not getting anyone to commission you.

One thing you might want to consider is being more objective in your costs. For example, let's go with a bust/half-body CG art - set a cost of $50 to start with for no background and then do add ons. +$10 for complex clothing or a simple background. +$20-30 for a complex background.

By the way, is there a reason you set an additional cost for NSFW? That stuck out to me a bit looking at your tab.

So the extra fee for NSFW probably seems a little strange, and it really is for a few reasons.

1. I learned that a person who commissioned a ton of cheap NSFW art was 15-16. It was a huge mess, his MOTHER contacted me and... 🤦‍♀️
I want to discourage that from happening again. XD
Adult art calls for adult prices.

2. I can work on most things in public or while my family is nearby but not NSFW, so I need to make extra time to work on it alone. ^^;

3. I don't usually get requests specifically for NSFW, usually they come from a YCH that I have open. People don't usually and up paying that much anyway.

I had a few other weird experiences when I offered really cheap NSFW art as well. Some people take it as a RP invitation rather than an advertisement. xD Which is fine if they want to get funky but I am not available for that kind of thing. ^^;
And then... Well I won't even mention what happened on Inkbunny. T-T

But usually things still end up pretty cheap regardless. I just have to be really careful. xD

Hmm, I understand wanting to charge what your worth while still bringing in customers, but i really feel you could charge more for your watercolors, especially considering how beautiful they are and how well you produce them. Maybe up all three prices by at least $5 if not $10?
