Even though Decidueye's Tera type is Flying, I still plan on using Pyroar, because Decidueye is still a Grass/Ghost type Pokemon. Pyroar is a Fire/Normal type. Not only is Grass moves weak to Fire, but Ghost moves have no effect on Normal types.

That sounds reasonable. Sometimes having resistance to the opposing Pokemon's attacks is more important than being able to hit their tera type hard. A prolonged fight can still be won, but you can't win if your clock is consumed by frequent knock-outs.

That last seven star tera raid, Pikachu, was tough. We were forced to terastralize our Pokemon in order to do some actual damage.

I've never really bothered with seven-star ones. They seem more the sort of thing you'd want to attempt with Pokemon specifically designed for dealing with them, and preferably a team of friends you can communicate with. Neither of which I have.

I can share you my own experience with dealing with 7 stars, as I have beaten every single one without really having "Counters" designed for them. I generally use the same ones for every type no matter the difficulty.

I advice to do every tera except the 7 stars, or hard 6 stars on your own, its very easy most of the time and you don't really need to beat them all for the rewards you need.
If you are after the 7 stars, more than counters for yourself, you need to check information from other people attempting the challenge. You can know just by seeing the selected pokemon of your teammates if you'll be able to win or not, so you can simply stop the raid and search a new team of trainers.

Because of rng, double team greninja has been the only to take 2-3 hours for me in attempts.

The thing is that seven star raids just don't seem worth the trouble. As for the others, whether or not I can solo them really depends on the tera type, and the opposing Pokemon in question, as well as whether or not one of the handful of level 100 Pokemon I have are a good match for it.

I only have 8 lvl 100, I'd say you probably have enough.

About 7 star rewards, I do them for 2 reasons. Either I would like to have that pokemon in the game (cinderace), or simply want to keep stacking ability patches since its a very important rare item that is guaranteed reward on 7 star raids.
Besides that, yeah, not much worth. If you can trade the mons, and had gotten enough ability patches, I'd say don't bother with them.

As for me, I'm using every single patch I get, so still could do some more.

On an unrelated note, did you see my note about how to use the searching operators to potentially have better results on your searches?

Interesting. I didn't know that the ability patch drop was guaranteed from those, which is definitely handy. That's something you can never have too many. Especially since once Home becomes available, I may have some shiny Pokemon I'd like to raise up for PvP, which I neglected to do in the past because they didn't have the abilities I wanted. Not that I actually care about shiny Pokemon, but if I happen to have them, then they're nice to use over the normal ones at the very least, so long as I can do so without sacrificing their sufficiency in battle.

As for catching the seven star raid Pokemon, I have no use for that. Any of them, at least that they've had so far, I can just wait until Home becomes available, then transfer them from another game with far less hassle.

That's pretty annoying. Another similar problem is choosing underleveled pokemon, this mostly happens on six or seven star raids.

I swear I've seen signs of that as well, but it's a lot harder to notice if that's an issue given how nonsensical tera raids are in terms of function. They were an interesting idea in theory, but the removal of conventional turns just wound up making them a total mess. Point though is that you shouldn't be doing high star raids if you're not level 100, but there's probably dumb kids out there who figure that 60 or 70 was high enough for PvP since the game rules can set your level to the same as the opponent regardless, and so stopped leveling there.

Honestly my problem is more people not seeming to get the idea to use their cheers to heal when needed as well though have noticed they try fo cous more on just attacking outright instead of buffing/debuffing the attack/defense stat (or sp. Depending on the boss amd used pokemon.)

People who don't cheer are also obnoxious, but for that I also have to partially blame how much of an utter mess tera raids are fundamentally. The whole real-time element doesn't work at all, and just makes everything incredibly awkward with no way to plan your moves in accordance to the rest of your team without having voice chat enabled. Just like how some people never cheer at all, I couldn't tell you the number of times when everybody did a healing cheer at once, causing some to go to waste. Or the number of times I cheered to heal, only to then have my ally Pokemon get knocked out instead because the information on the HUD isn't updating sufficiently.

Yea can't blame ya there it has been rather annoying at times since at least with the 7 stars i would rather a cheer go to wast than not have it used at all. Though that might be just because of how hard they can be. As for the other issue of focusing soley on the tera type, I will admit i am a bit guilty of this sometimes using Iron Hands on an Ice tera of a normally fairy, psychic or flying type, but not all the time, mostly just if i feel i can get away with wwhen i can or if i have a plan to deal with it, though never really with 6 stars.

Yeah, I've also done it as well. Sometimes because I'm just not paying very close attention, or if I do a random raid and just don't have any better options. Of course, it can also sometimes happen due to the raid Pokemon having an unexpected move because I'm unfamiliar with what it does, or something like that. For example, it helps to know in advance if a raid Pokemon can inflict certain status ailments that you might want to make yourself immune.

Yea or maybe to take advantage of its main stats and move pool like maybe dachsbun on a normally fire type mon that is fighting/dark/dragon, well so long as its a dachsbun with well-baked body, which helped amd worked surprisingly well with the cinderace raid.

Yeah. There's a lot to consider, which makes it all the more annoying when people seem to only consider the tera type. Then again, if I were eight-years-old playing the game, I'd probably do the same thing. Figuring, "hit hard = win."

Indeed, hitting hard is good, but at least with 6 and ESPECIALLY 7 stars, survivability is far more important, having power is good but doesn't mean anything if you can't use it properly.

Indeed. So long as you're holding out and doing bits of damage, it's still very possible to stay ahead of the clock. Not to mention how much time you lose if knocked out. In fact, I've found draining moves like Drain Punch and Bitter Blade to be especially useful during tera raid battles for that very purpose. Allowing you to keep delivering consistent damage while keeping your own HP up.

Yea though if all else fails, just tank the damage, as the saying goes "The best offense is a stong defense.

Indeed. A drawn out victory is still a victory, but haste won't get you anywhere if the enemy can take you out faster.
