Seriously?
I just checked and the last upload I made here was back in July of last year and the last time I uploaded any stories was at the end of 2021. Really? I knew I had gotten a bit lax in my creative endeavors, but I didn't realize it was this bad. Sheesh. Not to mention I haven't written a journal in over 2 years.
Well, for anybody wondering, like a lot of people, during the pandemic I didn't have a lot of reason to go anywhere, so I just stayed indoors. This led to me becoming a bit of an indoor fox, but worse yet I became really lazy as well. After I moved to LA, I found I wanted to travel around even less and it seemed like I had even less motivation to do anything creative. I've been thinking about getting back into both writing and animation, even messing around in Blender here and there, but I always wound up taking really long breaks. Well, over the last couple of weeks, I got an itch, a really bad one and I found that I really, really, really wanted to get back into writing. So, I sat down and started working on my "Olfactophilia" series, "finishing" a couple chapters and ready to continue with the next few. And let me say, I feel wonderful. I feel free and creative and anxious to share with everyone my perverted furry thoughts. ^.^
FUTURE PLANS
Part of the problem, I feel, is that when writing a series I can get bogged down with world-building and character or story development that it usually takes time for me to really flesh it out so I can get to the good stuff. This in turn delays my posts and inhibits my creative side. So, what I plan to do moving forward is, whenever writing a series or working on potential commissions, to write a chapter or two for the series or commission and in between write a random one-off story just to give people something to have fun with. I'm also looking to start writing more short stories, which for me means 3k-4k words, just to get more stories put out there and also keep myself in practice. In addition, for story series, I intend to write several chapters at a time and gradually release them periodically so that I can keep the flow of the story or potential story going more smoothly.
COMMISSIONS
For anyone who might be interested, I'm not planning on opening for commissions anytime soon due to a backlog of stories and chapters that I want to get done. I do have a couple of people who have asked previously and I have to speak to them first, although that will also take some time. I feel it necessary to explain something, though. When I started doing commissions back in 2019, I was unemployed and looking to make a little extra money. However, I found a job not too long after that and didn't want to spend all my free time writing commissions, so I didn't take too many. That and I also had difficulty finding the motivation. However, that might change if I can manage my time better and stay focused on a specific task at hand. With that in mind, I will make sure to let anyone interested in a commission know when I'm ready to open for them.
ANIMATIONS
In addition to my writing, I also have my attempts at animation, which I have also been lax in pursuing. As stated, I have been working on and off with Blender, but not enough to really be truly productive or to learn new things to make better and more versatile animations. I will hopefully be fixing that, but I've been saying this for years, so who knows if it'll come to fruition. One problem is writing and animating at the same time can be a bit distracting. So while working on one, I tend not work on the other. I really hope this works because I really, really want to make more animations and share them with everyone.
I'm getting old. As of this coming Wednesday, I will officially be 40 years old. In some ways I do feel it, in others I don't, but however I feel age wise, I definitely know that I am wasting time not doing what I love and that needs to f*****g change.
