…work wise I mean. I’m still enjoying the challenge of this new management secondment, each day providing a lot of new experiences and lessons that are good both for me as a person and for my career development. Yet I feel kinda stuck with the goals and aims I was given when I took this position, mostly due to a lack of staff to actually make the improvements I was brought in to make. It’s frustrating to want to focus on availability and sales when all the staff in when you are, are already arms deep in established tasks and can do little else otherwise we just fall behind. So for the moment I just end up doing the same thing every single night. Make sure checkouts are coping with enough staff to meet customer demands, field customer complaints or queries and make sure paperwork is signed off at the end of the evening. Which is needed of course, I just feel I could do more. *sighs*
