I don't dislike any genre. Either I like a song or I don't. And if you share something with me, it has sentimental value to me. So even if mechanically I dislike the tune, I'll still associate it with our friendship or acquaintanceship and it'll mean something to me anyway. So there is nothing to fear in showing me what you like.

However, bands I discourage are Five Finger Death Punch, Trapt and Kid Rock. Just those 3.
