Should Vore Art be Marked Mature?
This is something that's been on my mind for a very long time. I've gone back and forth about it, and currently I do still have all my vore art marked as General so anyone can see. The main reason for that is because I have a lot of friends don't want to see certain lewd stuff or other fetishes and so use the site with Mature turned off. I have enjoyed knowing that they can see it when it's ready.
But on the other paw, I grow more and more uncomfortable every day with the knowledge that minors have such easy access to it. Not because I think my vore art is explicit or that vore itself is inherently lewd, but because I don't want to be responsible for providing something that is classified as a fetish in a way that is so easy for minors to find. The internet sees it differently than most of the people I talk to do, and it's that potential perception that makes me uncomfortable.
I used to rationalize it by saying stuff like "Vore is in children's media all the time! It's even in the Bible!", but if you really start to investigate the difference between how it's portrayed there and how it's portrayed in vorarephilic art, maybe you can see why I don't quite think that argument works. When "vore" is used in most mainstream media, it is used as an obstacle, an educational experience, or to off a character. While it may be treated as more of an "owo" moment to vorarephiles and maybe even the animators or artists, the end result is not specifically meant to tickle our fancy.
But, for example, if you come onto FA and look even at most of the more innocent vore artwork, it is very clearly meant to appeal to people who desire to either be eaten or to eat others, whether it be for comfort or curiosity or... well, other stuff. It's not treated as just an obstacle, educational experience, or to finish a character. It may also have those things, but it also has very specific connotations attached and is clearly made with the goal to appeal to vorarephiles.
The former I believe is within acceptable limits of what minors should be allowed to see, even if there will be cases where it leads to some kind of awakening for them as it did for me when I was young. I think it's unavoidable that someone who does have an interest in vore will find out about it sooner or later, and with technology so prevalent in the world today, they're probably gonna learn about before they turn 18.
But the second example has me questioning the limits, and I feel I'm on the verge of saying that any artwork or other depictions or characters in vorarephilic situations with the intent to appeal specifically to this community should be hidden from minors.
But I am just one person with one opinion. I've mentioned it in conversation with friends and stuff to see what they thought before, but I'm curious what my watchers would think since those of you who browse with Mature turned off will be the most affected by this. Do you think vore art should be marked as Mature? Why or why not?

These mostly interact with how something would be marked general or mature in normal way like fatal is dangerous for the prey at any point so even if there's nothing grizzly shown it should probably be mature. And of course dangerous stuff for where the prey is clearly suffering like with horrifying or gory digestion that's definitely adult.
That said voreis only a fetish to those who have it unlike normal sexual content [ which is only not sexually charged for asexual individuals]. And most people in the world probably have no idea that voraphilia even exists let alone object to it. And the people that did object to it would object to any vore. If vore was inherently NSFW then it wouldn't show up in kids media at all regardless of how it's portrayed to the general public or to us.
Minors [ just like most people] are not going to get turned on by vore except in the case of an awakening later on in their life as you've mentioned. In my opinion you don't have to worry about that. I'd be more worried about wackos that think we're endorsing real-world cannibalism then the stuff you're currently concerned about.
I wouldn't worry about under-age viewers too much in this sense, as most likely they'll see whatever you post anyway because it's not hard to lie about age on the internet. There's literally nothing stopping them from getting around that advisory, so why fret about it? Use it to warn people that there could be mature or explicit content in the art as they were intended, so if they don't want to see that they don't have to. So much good vore is hidden past mature tags now in the name of 'protecting minors' who will be viewing it anyway. Honestly all the drama surrounding this seems more about attacking people on damn twitter over protecting minors.
The stuff about children is true, I agree. If I wanted to see certain things on FA when I was a kid, their super flimsy age verification would have done nothing to stop me. I think what I'm most worried about is perception, and making it so easy to access without even trying could be perceived a little badly to someone on the outside who only know about vore as a fetish. That and, as I said in the journal, maybe some people simply don't want to see fetish artwork in their feed and set their filter to General specifically to avoid it since FA's tag system is so poorly conceived. Or it could be used to add another layer of hiddenness if you don't want certain friends to find it, though that one is a little more niche.
I have no issue with other people marking their vore as General. That's more or less something FA has apparently determined is up to each user to decide on their own if their poor definitions or abysmal moderation are anything to go by. I'll admit it was nice to be able to find that content easier before I finally pushed myself to make an account.
There's arguments either way that I think are valid. I'm just sorta trying to figure out which ones convince me the most.
Is like the media in general, you can show something fun like a joke, very SFW or you can show something more like an "R" rated movie, like a horror film for example and this is because vore is another topic on the infinite art topics and the purpose of art in general is make you feel something, not obligatory make you feel good, cuz if that was, genders as comedy, horror tragedy easily won't exist.
Now, we must put all vore content as mature? As I've trying to explain, it depends completely of what topic you showing, because obviously there is topics that isn't for everyone, like blood or sexuality for example.
So, in summary, as my point of view, vore can be rated as general or mature depending on what are you telling with it.
But as I mentioned before, it really depends from person to person. It feels like quite a subjective thing and I suppose something we all need to figure out for ourselves. FA certainly isn't very clear on how they want it rated.
However I understand that not everyone will see my art the way that I do or intend, so that’s why I’m still even considering doing the same.
You should do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. As someone who only browses FA with the general filter on (again eroticphobic), I still follow vore artists who mark their artwork as mature. So you marking your commissioned artwork as mature won’t keep me from seeing it. I trust that you wouldn’t post something explicit or lewd despite the mature rating.
There's just a lot to consider and I probably will me considering the pros and cons of making the switch for a good while. I certainly seem to have made it a thing for myself to think about things for far too long before actually making a decision.
On that note, though, does FA show you artwork in your feed if it's marked mature even when you've selected not to see anything marked above general? That seems like a huge oversight if that's how it works.
like, predefined tags which you pick with a click: yiff, endo vore, soft vore, paws, latex, transformation, etc.
then users can decide which fetish they want to filter out, which to keep
and site admins can set age limit for every fetish
