Marking All My Vore as Mature
This is a follow up to [this journal] I posted a couple months ago.
After a lot of thought and due to developments around the site in recent months, I've decided that all of my vore artwork will be marked as Mature from now on.
A lot of good points were brought up about how minors will find a way to access it whether it's marked mature or not, and while I don't disagree, I think the optics of at least attempting to hide it is worth going through with it on that reasoning. I already have long decided that I will not engage with anyone under 18 on topics regarding vore, so it makes sense to just go all the way with it.
I'll also reiterate my points from the previous journal about "vore" in media as a plot point being very different from vore artwork on a site that's geared toward fueling the fetish. The previous journal touches on it more though.
The thing that kind of pushed me over the edge began with the recent site update, which specifically drew attention to vore (along with transformation) by making a specific exception for it, which made me realize exactly how I see vore. It is not something I would be comfortable involving minors in in any way, and I already have had rules against such in my Discord server since the beginning. If I follow that reasoning, would I consider it to be sfw if I would not show it to minors (or coworkers, if you want to follow the literal definition of "sfw")? The answer to that is no. Furry art in general I wouldn't mind sharing for the most part, but vore and any fetish material is no.
I say this with the knowledge that many (maybe even most) of my close friends do not enjoy vore in a sexual way. It's just another way to interact and bond with each other, and that's okay. I'm not saying vore is inherently sexual. The main point for me is that it is a fetish, and I believe that most normal people who see vore and either don't know much about it or have seen it unhidden around the way do believe that is most commonly enjoyed that way. I have seen statistics from surveys that might as well confirm such. (I believe it is something like 80% of the vore community enjoys it that way if those stats are representative of the wider community.) In short: It's not inherently sexual, but the majority of vorarephiles enjoy it that way from what I've seen.
This decision also comes in the wake of many vore artists that I watch making the same decision despite having uploaded it as General up until now. These influenced my decision as well.
And finally, I will say that this is also a way to keep it more hidden from people just randomly searching me up on the internet. I'm not sure I want just anyone to know that I'm into vore, and I think it's likely that Bisky will will be discovered in the wild at some point. Mature art can't be seen unless you sign up to FA, which adds an extra layer of hiddenness to it all. Assuming all my journals wouldn't give it away. I am aware that there is a way to hide all submissions from viewers who are not members of FA, and I don't want to do that.
Anyway, that's basically it. I'll spend the next few minutes going through my gallery and making the changes. If you need any more clarification, I'll try to answer comments (although like the last journal, responses could be a month later). I hope this all makes sense and doesn't upset anyone who enjoys seeing what I commission. My thoughts aren't 100% collected maybe I didn't clarify the greatest, but I am confident in this decision.
