A note concerning Telegram and Discord.

I've said this before, but it does with saying again as it's been happening a few times lately

Please do not just send me random messages or friend requests on things like Telegram or Discord.
I do not list my Discord, Telegram or Steam names on my profile for a reason x.o
I am quite a private person in general. I have issues with anxiety and some other things, and generally reserve direct messengers like those purely for people I consider friends, or for conducting business with artists as it's a more efficient way to go over commission details and pass over references.
If I'm up for speaking with someone over these programs; I'll offer my contact information to the person, or request theirs.
I don't mind comments on works I upload here, or on twitter. And in general I sometimes reply to notes.
But I am generally not much for back and forth chatter like some folks are unless I'm comfortable with and know the person better. Blame it on the number of people who've added me before only looking for free art or sexual roleplay. I'm just alot more guarded now on how I let people approach me.
If you enjoy the works I've commissioned? Fav em, comment on them. Hells bells, blow your collective load to them if that's your thing. I buy smut for a reason xD
Chances are I'll reply to comments and such in time.

I’ve disabled notes and DMs whenever possible, and clearly stated my preferences on messaging on my FA profile / journal and in my Discord/TG bio. Doesn’t stop people from sending messages (although the only avenue these days for that is via TG), which demonstrates a clear lack of respect for boundaries and preferences. I made it difficult for a reason! :p
I sort of solved the TG issue by creating a folder and putting group and friends chat in it. I never stray out of that folder, since outside its little digital walls is what can be only described as a graveyard. Or the wild west. Any new chats appear there, and unless I specifically go looking for them, they'll perpetually remain lost to the ages. Keeps things quiet and manageable!
Best way I've put it to people.. is imagine if you were just doing your thing, and suddenly your mobile phone went off.. and some random random person who'd seen you in the street/heard your name/seen it on something; had looked up your phone number and then called you.
You'd be freaked the fuck out.
That's how sudden telegram messages feel to me. I didn't give out my info. I don't list it anywhere..
Getting random dms can be okay, but when it's about rp with someone you've only just met it can be irksome, or if they're just there to say "hi how r u"
I feel compelled to respond to every message I get on discord and then usually live to regret it after cause the person is real annoying, I should really do what you do instead and just ignore it if their message is very low effort
I feel bad if I ignore anyone though even if I know it's a mistake to respond <w>
You can't make everyone happy; and shouldn't try to. either.
At least that's how it feels when I leave a message sitting, once I respond the first time I have no issue leaving them sitting forever and not messaging them on my own, but if they message me again it's like "shit, here we go again" at the least the anxiety of keeping up with people I do know and like doesn't apply to random strangers
tl;dr, People are weird, some more than others. Try to respect the boundaries of others.
but yea i get alert whenever strangers try to dm me, yea. i seems to always like saying hi first for some reason
