I also want to say that, despite my constant worrying, that I'm not someone who cares about purity. There are ways we can deal with underage content and the people who make it and this current policy does not fulfill the goal: heck, it may make the issue worse.

I'm just... Mentally unwell and this isn't helping me any.

I just don't understand why the users on here are so defiant against this new rule that FA just announced, I just don't get it.

Because the logic behind it is nice in thought but utterly stupid in practice.

How is an eevee automatically a child? How is a riolu automatically a child, how is an agumon automatically a child?

They've basically forbidden all 1st stage pokemon and more or less all rookie stage digimon.

It's also not hard set otherwise, it's up to the whims of the mods and admins and there's hard evidence taht one mod will say one thing on the rule and another will hard contradict it.

The rule change itself wasn't really needed in the first place. Then it was announced in the most vague, undefined way possible with a two week deadline. When asked for clarification, we get more confusing, vague and open-for-interpretation replies and definitions. We get told "We won't put together a list of Pokemon or Digimon that are not allowed", but two sentences further they go "For example this, this and this are ones that will not be allowed".

When asked how to prevent a ban, we're being told to avoid "child-like proportions", which means fuck-all with cartoon characters that are literally drawn that way by their official creators. How are we supposed to give an Eevee "adult" proportions? (which, according to one of the size charts they posted, means the head isn't allowed to be more than 1/6th of the body size) Draw it with 4 foot long legs?

Then there's the point that it's fucking difficult to give actual feedback on these things, because they don't allow comments on their journals, they barely are present on Twitter, they deleted their forum, and apparently (and of course I can not verify that part) their Discord is prone to ban you if you "disturb the atmosphere"


So why are users are so defiant against it? It's arbitrary, vague, opens the door for wildly subjective rulings from moderators, could have you banned from the site even if you think you did everything wrong, and gives the impression of just being the first step of worse rules to come.

It's not supposed to be a new rule, according to their own description the only thing that changed is they are no longer making exceptions for pokemon or digimon, they require all characters to have "adult-like" proportions, which forces you to "age-up" a character design if they deem it too child like. They have said they don't have a list, but then provided a partial list of characters that cannot be drawn canonically accurate like Eevee, where at least a third of the many thousands of uploaded images fall afoul of the updated vague guidelines.

There are many artists who have submitted their art to make sure it still follows policy and they have been told no, because they draw in a chibi-like style, draw short characters like yordles, goblins, etc, who shouldn't have been affected by the update at all or people who have drawn show-accurate pokemon/digimon. Which seems hypocritical when you can't draw an Eevee accurately but you can totally lewd a small breed of IRL dog without getting in trouble. (Kids can't consent, animals can't consent, but drawing one is fine and making anything that can be misconstrued as the other even if it isn't intended to be is ban worthy?)

Within the guidelines they say NO fetishization of minors, and yet now include cutouts for Vore & Transformation, which seems like weird favoritism based on the staffs preferences.

Everything has been so vague and contradictory its created a lot of stress for innocent artists. No ones trying to defend pedophiles or zoophiles, but seriously, they are going so hard after one small disturbing niche its affecting many artists who explicitly do not draw them and for what? Who is being protected from a couple of lines on some paper? When the actual harm is on the real people who do these things for a living.

In the chaos is seems a bunch of 'controversial' artists and associated accounts have been banned, even though they haven't broken the updated policy. It all just seems like a big crusade to push people they don't like off the platform and they're covering themselves by making the rules more confusing. At least in my opinion, other people believe its because they plan to sell off the site again and this is their effort to clean it up.

It's been a headache. With how poorly it's been handled, you'd think it's some underaged Twitter kiddie on a crusade and not a moderator of a well-established site with lots of history under its belt.

what pisses me off most about this is the people taking the opportunity to be shitty over the rule change. I've already had to unfollow two artists because they put up journals basically going "HMMMMM I WONDER WHY ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO INKBUNNY, MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE REALLY PEDOS!?!?!?!" and just refusing to show even the slightest bit of empathy for why people might be worried over this change.

It's really insulting on a personal level that there are people--both on FA staff and regular users--basically saying that people like my husband and I, who both have characters that may fall under this rule, are pedophiles and deserve nothing but scorn. Fuck that. I'm not a fucking pedophile, neither is my husband, and anybody who thinks I do just because we have first-stage pokemon 'sonas can eat shit.

Oh people moving to Inkbunny first of all places aren’t suspicious because they’re moving, but because of where they’re moving to. Inkbunny was created in reaction to when FA first started cracking down on cub art, and the site has a very laze-faire style of moderation. That is to say, it’s attracted an undesirable crowd.

The thing about Inkbunny is kinda... with site A banning this content, and Site B not allowing that content, and Site C not allowing another category, people tend to wash up at the one place they've got left to go. The one thing they have working for them is a proper tagging and tag-blocking system, so at least you can keep the worst things out.

It gets worse. I reported one image by dragoneer that has guilmon, extremely nsfw and all, guilmon, a digimon known for being child like.. and they said ''nope, no violations here'' lmao, so they are even incosistent in their ''clarification''

I wonder how many people have even reported Dragoneer's stuff at this point. Honestly, his gallery should be one of the most widely-affected by the rules due to many of his current and past interests.

We have words for the consumption of others in a non-fetish setting: it's called cannibalism. There's no SFW/minor-appropriate vore: it's inherently fetish content. I'm assuming they're considering the act of consuming another in a non-fetish context, like a feral animal eating another animal, as vore. Which is definitely not right, but also not an unreasonable assumption. I really hope they fix that. Shit's fucking wild.

The "Eevee automatically being a child" is honestly just fucking hilarious when you take into account that dragoneer, in addition to having his sona be a digimon that according to many breaches the list of "acceptable digimon", recently created a pokesona who's an Eevee. So if him and his team claim that any NSFW content with Eevee is CP, then that says more about him than anything else.

Most of us just want them to stop contradicting themselves, but there's a strange number of people showing up in various journal comments that are weirdly hostile towards the people who have legit complaints about it.
"Not a species ban, but totally is, but no it really isn't, but we are acting like it is anyway" is my biggest takeaway from the mess.
The whole thing also comes off as a de facto blanket ban on Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Digimon, MLP, Sonic and possibly Kobolds and Goblins as a whole depending on the mod... and it's quickly becoming obvious there's at least one mod who has some kind of grudge against anything remotely short in stature based on how absolutely widely affected some artists are.

This rule I saw from before backfired me...

Even so, I think that the whole drama-issue with the whole CP thing and this rule is resolved (and fixed) nonetheless, but with users leaving FA the site is more likely to dry out and turn into a shriveling heap of dust ready to be blown away by the wind.

I hate that. What I really know is...sometimes issues come longer than I think it, but are you really waiting to see if changes will take effect on the site? Yes. Are you gonna worry? Yes. Are you eventually hoping yourself and overthinking that problem now that it might become a conflict? ALL yes. And also, you might feel something as if there was a moment of crisis that FA might die down someday. I just know it.

I feel like I've been a little nervous about the change; nobody's prepared for this just yet. Maybe there are more drastic times and drastic measures that the change might come up on the site and this is affecting anyone on the community...

I really have nothing else to say here, and I feel like this is an old journal anyway
