itaku seems to be recommended by alot of people

I've been greatly impressed by the site, its moderation, its features and its interface

It has a very clean appearance, they have the feature to boost submissions so non-artists can share pictures they like with their followers, their tagging system is well implemented with seemingly no limitations on tag count/length and a popup which corrects spelling mistakes and suggests related tags (similar to e621). Users can suggest/add missing tags too.

They have similar (perhaps looser) restrictions on underage art to FurAffinity's older policies. And when their policies changed, moderators removed my offending submissions deemed as "underage content" without judgment (it was automated with a bot!)

It is a real home run of a site and honestly I think people should have migrated anyways! They've done a phenomenal job with the site and I can't oversell how many things it does right. (We Are Not Sponsored)

after getting to use it abit more it is indeed far superior to FA and probably better than any other gallery site i have used (except maybe DA), i can see how far behind FA is on alot of things, i didn't know how to see all the artwork from my followed artists as a gallery but now that i know how it is also better than the fa gallery
another thing i really like is that comments are sorted by newest first and there is no comment edit timer, i think thats going to encourage commenting, and finally getting to see full size photos is awesome

and i also don't have to complete another gosh darn captcha again, since i log into different sites multiple times a day this is a major benefit to me

I might make an Itaku, people have been saying good things about it so far

I strongly recommend you try it out! As far as performance, usability, moderation and overall features it is just a phenomenal gallery and it is even developing a sizable user base.

The only knock against it (arguably) is that the site is not "Furry Specific" but after my experiences with FurAffinity, I'm not convinced I'm a good fit for a "Furry Specific" website anyways. Sites like that will eventually kick me out when my drawings are not furry enough for them! Itaku is for everybody, and that includes me so I'm happy.

I'll have to follow you there then. Seeing a lot of recommendations for the site, and after trying it out for a bit, I like it quite a lot. It's not bad at all~
So I'll definitely be using it alongside the other place, haha.

Yeah I was really surprised by FurAffinity's new policies. I sent them five images to look at so I'd have a range of stuff and I could gauge my gallery appropriately... I was expecting a range of responses vaguely like, "Riolu's not OK, pikachu's OK, Yoshis are OK but don't upload any Baby Yoshis."

...Instead they just said no to EVERYTHING except for the last two where they were like, "You'll probably need to remove these, but I'll run it by the other admins", they didn't say ANYTHING was acceptable. ...If I knew that would happen I would have gone with a much broader range!

I still don't know like... Is Mewtwo OK? Is Bowser OK? Is King K.Rool OK? These are all characters that are like 5 heads tall with large eyes, hands and feet, so they're technically proportioned like children. I'm planning to leave some of them up... I honestly hope I don't get in trouble!

Giving that regular Yoshi’s are a problem (dumb, dumb, dumb) then I bet anything Birdo is also an issue.

I haven't looked into Itaku much. I guess I'd have to ask a writer if it's any good for submitting text content.

If I could pick anything myself I guess I would go with Sofurry or AO3 since they have amazing features for written works. But the reality is I have to take into account where everyone else is going. Sofurry is great for fics but not so much for art. At least that's been my impression with it. So I'm planning to move to Inkbunny because it seems to have the most general appeal for all kinds of creators, and it is reasonably popular.

I've gotten a lot of attention at SoFurry this week including a few comments so I think some people are moving there. You should definitely not rule it out just because it's unpopular

InkBunny is by far the most popular gallery site I am on besides FurAffinity, so I think you reached a reasonable conclusion. Twitter is by far the most popular non-gallery site, but I can't imagine trying to use it for stories (unless they are very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very short :D)

I don't know if you saw it, but I commented on one of your other recent journals. I hate to see you go, and I fear there may not be much of the site left after the recent policy change. I'm following you on various sites. I'll check them more often. I hope you finish converting the monster mind game. I always loved the game. Ever since I first played it on the day you first posted it. I spent many days playing it, trying to achieve 100%. I did succeed. I never unraveled one mystery. If you call Kecleon with the phone, can you play with him? Having Kecleon as a playable character like the other Pokemon would complete the game IMHO. I always hoped he'd be more than a perpetual tease. Perhaps you could play with him, after buying all the OTHER items in the shop, besides the phone. Kecleon needs attention, too. Standing around an empty shop with nothing to do, isn't good for them. Kecleon isn't a stellar salesman but could excel in more hands-on areas. Smeargle might even find the prospect hot; it could help him deal with his shyness problem. :) Sorry for the rambling post, but the idea popped into my head, and refused to leave my brain.

Sucks that FA had to do this to you, and I hope they don't decide to ban your account for some arbitrary reason, like if they look at one pic and be like "yeah, this is a minor, ban him". I'm a little surprised you aren't deleting your account here, quite a few artists are going nuclear and purging their entire galleries and nuking their accounts to oblivion in response to this policy change.

I'll check out itaku, is it an art sharing website with a decent presence? Also, are they okay with NSFW art? I want to put in measures in place in case this place crashes and burns. But I think I'd be more comfortable following ya there than InkBunny. The site just seems a little too questionable with everything I've heard, as well as the type of people that are present on the site.

Itaku is alright with most NSFW stuff except for very clearly defined restrictions in accordance with Estonian Laws (The site's based in Estonia, and as such, it has to moderate based on Estonian Legislation which tends to be pretty heavy handed on certain topics). For the most part, however, they're very clear with what they do and don't allow in their TOS.

yeah I'll be doing my best to sanitize my gallery so they'd have to really, REALLY reach to find something to ban me for

like Bowser is technically only 5 heads tall and maybe they'll be like "oh okay well, let's just ban him for that and get him out of here" ha ha. but i think they'll be more reasonable. i've been reasonable with them. they don't seem particularly spiteful. my art is just a bad fit for the website, i've come to terms with that

Yeah, Itaku is an art sharing website, they are okay with NSFW art, but I'd say they currently have about 5%-10% the userbase of FurAffinity so i don't know about "A Decent Presence" but they are certainly growing rapidly. Maybe in 6 months I will laugh reminiscing about the times I only got 2 stars on a picture there!!

InkBunny is a sketchy place and you will find just the worst kind of stuff there. The keywording and blacklist system works well enough for me but I can totally understand avoiding it because of the stigma

I have been a lurker on this website for exactly 15 years. Just a little time ago I would have said this place would feel like a cozy home forever, but I suppose it won't be the case.
I've been following you for a long time and I always enjoyed the amazing variety you show in your work. Monster Mind remains one of the best games I've ever played around here and I still remember fondly the strong feelings I got from its story and characters.
I will follow you on Itaku as well, as soon as I set up an account there. Keep going strong, and thanks for all the art you have shared this far.

Awesome it's great to finally hear from you after 15 years. That's such a crazy long time! That's around the time I remember someone telling me something along the lines of, "Your art has always had like, interesting ideas to it. But you're finally getting to where it's actually good to look at too!" Of course it's a comment that sounds a little mean-spirited, but they're not wrong either ha ha....

Have you tried Inbunny as a backup reserve?

I certainly feel like the two sites, e6 and FA, are slowly tightening their grip on the posting rules. I will never forget what e6 did to shoestrang.

I have already archived the first four years of my art on InkBunny over the past few days, and will continue to archive more.
