With all due respect, I'm not impressed with how it forces you to make an Instagram account.
I also find it shady AF that some of the reviews have found out Threads is invasive by taking lots and lots of data, not to mention that the app spams you with crap that you aren't following, and you don't see the stuff you are following.
Yes, I get it Threads is suppose to be like a Twitter alternative, but even I don't remember it sounding that bad.
I'm finding it shady as hell, and I'm very hesitant to even make a Instagram account, just because those two are connected to Facebook (because I don't buy that 'Meta' name crap).
I kinda had a dusty old Instagram account, so I just plugged that in. It takes a while for it to adjust to what you like to see - I kept searching for and favoriting furry stuff on the first day, then my feed was furry enough!
That said, a few days in I'm not using it very much because the recommendation still isn't that great. Scroll a bit and I've run out of fresh content. I'll check back in once they get hashtags up.
I've been faving and RTing stuff to get more furry stuff on my feed!
I did try Mastodon, but Threads is a lot more lively on just day 1
Until then, you can continue viewing content."
