Если банально/очевидно, то Наруто = лис, Саске волк. Первый как раз хитрый и не будь у него Курамы, то все равно сказал бы, что лис, а Саске тупо волк-одиночка.

I picture most of them as dogs, cats, and maybe frogs sense those are the species most often depicted as ninja (besides humans). Also, certain characters like Orochimaru, and Kisame would probably have more unique species such as bats, snakes, bugs, and sharks. But, if I had to pick just one species, it would be cats. This is because the existence of a ninja-cat village/city is canon in the show.
