This wasn't one of the big headline-making Russian missile attacks on Ukraine that kill a dozen civilians and injure dozens more, but it did appear in the news when I searched for it, and over 24 hours later it was becoming easier to find the Chernihiv missile strike mentioned -- Ukraine's President Zelensky even mentioned the deaths of two women in a Russian missile attack on Chernihiv in his 21-July-2023 video address. I thought that if anyone was skeptical it would be good to include the news reporting of the event (see below). For each of the headline making events like a missile hitting a shopping center or apartment building or busy cafe, there are probably dozens of these 'everyday' events where only one or two people are injured or killed that barely get mentioned in the news. There are just under a million people in Chernihiv Oblast, Ukraine, and only two casualties seems 'small', however in this case one of the two victims turned out to be the mother of a FA member (and an artist that I support on Patreon). Sometimes the world is a small place.
I found a few brief references to the 21-July-2023 death(s) in the Chernihiv oblast/region in the international news:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2.....f-the-invasion -- "An employee of a cultural centre had been found dead after Russian shelling in the Chernihiv region of northern Ukraine, governor Vyacheslav Chaus said."
https://www.nytimes.com/live/2023/0.....a-ukraine-news -- "Two people were killed after a missile struck a community center in Chernihiv."

Russian strikes kill at least 8 civilians as fierce fighting continues in Ukraine's south and east
"Two people were also killed near the northern city of Chernihiv, some 100 kilometers (62 miles) from the Russian border, as Russian cruise missiles destroyed the local cultural center and damaged apartment blocks, the regional military administration reported on Saturday morning. It did not specify the exact time of the attack, saying only it took place within the previous 24 hours."
(since the article above was written by the Associated Press, versions of it appear on many local newspapers' websites, I included a few)
https://www.reuters.com/world/europ.....on-2023-07-21/ -- "A woman's body was pulled out of the rubble of a cultural building after a missile strike in the northern region of Chernihiv, near the border with Russia, regional governor Viacheslav Chaus said. A photograph posted online showed the building had lost its top storey and a lower one had been severely damaged." --> I think this is the photograph Reuters is referring to: https://t.me/chernigivskaODA/8610 and there is a followup post https://t.me/chernigivskaODA/8614
There is another photo of the missile strike location here: https://kyivindependent.com/death-t.....st-rises-to-2/ -- caption: "The aftermath of the Russian July 21 missile attack on a cultural center in Chernihiv Oblast. (Operational Command "North"/ Telegram)"
I found this reference to the missile attack in the Kyiv Independent news: https://kyivindependent.com/death-t.....st-rises-to-2/ -- "Death toll of Russian attack on Chernihiv Oblast rises to 2 -- by The Kyiv Independent news desk July 21, 2023 7:07 PM" <text of article just below>
"The death toll of Russia's July 21 missile attack on a community center in Chernihiv Oblast reached two people, as rescuers found a woman’s body under the rubble, Governor Viacheslav Chaus reported.
The body of another woman who worked at the center was found earlier in the day, according to Chaus. He did not provide further details.
The air siren went off twice during the morning in Chernihiv Oblast. Around 11:15 a.m. local time, the governor announced incoming Russian missiles.
Over the past day, local officials reported several artillery strikes against the oblast, targeting the Novhorod-Siverskyi district.
Chernihiv Oblast, lying at Ukraine's border with Belarus and Russia, suffers regularly from Russian attacks."
