Since you mentioned it, the one I can think of is..

Twisted Metal!

My brother BarleyBarks and I have actually been fans since playing the games in 2017. We played the 2012 game, and then played Twisted Metal: Black. We jumped to researching and enveloping ourselves in the lore, and tons of other things! The creator mentioned somewhere that Needles Kane, aka Sweet Tooth was from Alabama, and we were pretty giddy because lolyeahsame.
He's such a beast of a psycho clown man, and the southern part to his absolutely off the walls slasher mentality encased in a war machine ice cream truck is fantastic.

My personal favorite character that I ACTUALLY hated at first was Calypso. He's of course, the face of Twisted Metal, and the cliche of him outwardly at first bothered me to hell and back until I read his backstory comic from TM2 and I couldn't hate him anymore. Tragedies aside, he'd felt pains I did for a good bit on my life, and I could give as many millions of fricksticks needed to prove I don't care if it has a small/major fanbase or not. The show came out for it on Peacock and we watched that in one sitting!

Calypso's mention enough made me excited and I'm hoping more comes of this new media awakening!!!!

Honestly, I expected to be disappointed, but it was actually great??? It had the campy dysfunction placed in real word, and I guess the only way I can describe the absolute right it feels in direction is

...a whole bunch of stuff bro and I are going to start drawing for it.

[And yes, I am currently, undeniably obsessed with Calypso. I feel like I almost left that hung off a cliff lol]
