Silkie is a stray kitty who paid us a visit on our balcony while my mother was watering her plants in October 2018. We adored the little cat and named her "Silkie" after feeling how soft her fur was. She had a collar at the time, but no one ever came to claim her, so we believe she was put out and abandoned by her previous family and started caring for her ourselves, making her our unofficial pet.

For years, the apartment management never raised an issue as the former staff liked the stray cats living in the area. Recently however, the apartments changed to new management who are much more avid about enforcing the apartment policies regarding pets. They specifically asked tenants not to feed the strays, to discourage them from remaining in the complex. We're afraid they will try to remove the cats by force before long.

So, we want to raise the funds necessary to cover the pet deposit ($300) so we can keep Silkie around. We appreciate any and all contributions, as will our fuzzy little family member.
