ow her poor back (i'm trying to buy a mattress)
hi so i've recently unearthed the horrors that are reading reviews for mattresses online and some of these motherfuckers like Helix and Nectar are nearly a thousand dollars for a fuckin twin size memory foam
i've found SOME for upwards of 400 bucks (still a yikes) and they're MOSTLY good reviews until you get to the folks that are like "I ordered this fucking bitch and it never fluffed back into shape so it's flat" and it worries me despite a LOT of these fucking companies promoting a "money back" with a trial to try the bed out
i wish i could go back to sleeping on the floor like i did all throughout college but alas i'm fucking 30 now and my body's like "hey maybe take care of me a little more than not at all??" cos i work out a lot and my muscles are achy
TLDR do any of you have any recommendations for cheesing my way through shopping and not paying that much fuckin money just to sleep without waking up going "ugh" every 3 hours??? names, people i want names
i want pictures of spiderman fucking a mattress with a jar of vaseline

FA+

I ordered a few inches of soft foam, and 6+ of hard foam, then stuffed them into a mattress protector that zips up and seals.
It was an odd process, but noone could look at or sleep on my bed and know that it's not a real mattress.
I saved like 600$ for my king-sized, and would do it again.
but then sometimes that weird "karate" pose sometimes on my belly where you have one leg lifted up weird, y'all know the one
I'm gonna give you the straight shit.
Most of the "features" and "technology" are bullshit.
Go into a local mattress place 100% promising yourself you won't buy anything. Lay on everything until you find something nice. Don't trust it unless you REALLY like it after, like, at LEAST five minutes. Probably way more. You can lie and tell them you'll buy something if you feel the need but do NOT. It's a scam. Then when you find one you like?
Leave. Leave and buy one online. Do NOT get the stupid covers or the $100 miracle pillow bullshit or whatever. Don't sign up for credits or coupons or anything else. Bedding stores are huge scams and stuff like memory foams and purple grids and whatever buzzwords? Meaningless.
Also don't buy anything used. For Gods sake. I've been poor and desperate and done it. Not worth the nightmare bugs.
and YEAH i've lived off used mattresses (air mattresses being the worst thing known to mankind as they deflate on me overnight) and no thanks
but yeah i've considered going to an actual store cos it's like clothes--some sizes in large are actually WAY bigger than a large
they also make inflatable matresses at camping stores if you REALLY need a quick fix. they get the job done for cheap.
when i was sleeping on the floor (i loved it so much) i'd use sofa cousions/a fouton cushion as my bed, with a blanket to make it softer. used it for like 2 years before i crushed it into oblivion due to always sleeping on the same spot for 2 years. my other alternative is just sleeping on blankets :P like stack a bunch of them up, and use them as a matress :P
(god i wanna go back to sleeping on the floor, but my cat is an asshole and might try suffocating me.)
it was fucking comfy, but yeah cotts maybe
I got one and it was an immense upgrade from the 50-year old mattress I was using as a hand me down
Encouraged my roommates to get one and their general feel about it has been very "meh".
No one mattress is gonna appeal to everyone unfortunately so you kinda just gotta shoot your shot n' try something or go out shopping in person and lay on a bunch of beds till you find one that doesn't make you groan in agony.
I ordered that one for my son and it's one of the best beds int he house. You'd need to buy a bigger size, but that company has been really good to us.
