I started working on a furry series before knowing what a furry even was. I remember this started as a project for class.
At the end of the year, we had to display our work for the general audience and as a girl walked by my showcase, she said something like, “Nice work. Are they furries?” And I replied something along the lines of, “Yeah, they’re bears so they are furry.”
She seemed surprised, then clarified by telling me that she was not questioning the texture of their bodies, but rather, are they FURRIES? …to which a befuddled me asked, “…what’s a furry?”
She made an odd noise, like an inaudible “oops” then said, “Oh, never mind. Anyway, nice stuff.” and walked off. If only I had known at the time, but I wouldn’t find out for quite a while later. ^^’
Anyway, since I just noticed this a few minutes ago, I don’t have anything planned, but maybe I’ll do something if I can come up with an idea. Anyway, I just wanted to share. Thanks, y’all!

My introduction to this whole 'furry' nonsense came in late 1991 or early 1992. Back then the Interwebz was accessed over dial-up phone lines and it was dreadfully slow. Image resolution was low, which was a good thing; otherwise it would take all night to download one picture.
