Man its been like what 4 years since I posted a journal here? And that was about the "Shiny" system that FA implemented only to have Dragoneer of all people throw stuff my way haha.
Well since I am here, I'm going to meander about with my original intentions and use the journal system for what it was intended for, to log a journal, put my thoughts down etc. But hey if you are reading this and can't be bothered and just want to grab my socials which is the main intention of this, just scroll down to the bottom for my Carrd info where you can see all the other places I have set up.
I honestly miss old school internet culture, and I don't mean 4chan humor or what have you, but I guess the slowness updates on the internet. I'm just showing my age here, but I miss having a decentralized internet space, that being said if there was a huge paradigm shift that abolished microblogging, algorithms that bombard you with content specifically tailored to your interests etc. I think it would be something that would take a very long time to adjust to. I honestly don't think it is something despite saying that I miss, is something that I want.
That being said, being a "full fledged adult" I simply don't have the time anymore to spend a good hour or so, writing up a long live journal post. Or spend hours on end each day on MSN and Skype chatting with friends about mundane stuff.
The one thing that I do want is the ability to basically turn off from the internet, which sure I could, but its easier said than done.
Anyway Bluesky! Follow me there if you have an account. I'll still be using twitter for the time being but I am going to also be making more of an active move over to Bluesky. also we can commit crimes against CSS formatting, the site has no plans to make an app and therefore don't have to pander to Apple or Google about the funny animal content being limited.
it's probably the closest we'll get to that paradigm shift.
