But jokes aside, I won't paywall anything, patreon will be for early access/wip stuff, and things I don't plan on uploading to public sites anyway.
I guess early access for ych slots *is* kinda pay2win though :D

I hope that's the case! It's just so often (actually, pretty close to constantly) that these things turn an artist away from creating wonderful worldbuilding and art to pumping out revenue-generating content and basically spamming their followers with advertisements. It happens so constantly I admit I was tempted to just unfollow and block, but we'll have to see how this turns out.

I just hope the 'early access' isn't some shit like 'will be posted publicly in two years' jokes.

That's understandable.
However I was never a big fan on jumping on bandwagons and just trying to milk what's popular, nor of spamming ads/reminders.
Another side of this issue to consider is that having extra revenue makes one a bit less reliant on doing extra irl work or trying to squeeze in more commissions for financial needs, and intead more time can be spent on drawing things one likes, which is the creative, fun, and worldbuilding stuff for me.

I do hope the stuff you won't upload anywhere else was planned as such already rather than just because of patreon though :')

Indeed. The are already a lot of sketches and pictures made for fun or as an experiment that are just sitting in my pc, maybe sometimes shared with some friends, might as well post it in a limited way like patreon.
These ideas often evolve into proper pictures or design/story elements that I upload to the usual places, still it might be worth checking out how my ideas and design processes work (and what silly ideas I work on without much thought hehe).
