I am so happy to see primarina getting some love!! She was my starter in gen 7 and people just seemed to dislike her because she started out as poplio. >_<; If not for squirtle, she would have been my water type choice for SURE! ...although, I am surprised that you didn't pick lopunny for your team.

I do like Lopunny quite a lot. She's definitely in my Top 15.

I'll occasionally swap out Hydreigon with Garchomp and Primarina with Zoroark or Sylveon, depending on how I think my opponents will play their teams. I've also got two different Lucarios specializing in either special attacks or physical ones if I want to mix up my playstyle. Basically, I've got a lot of backup options :p

Ah yeah ^_^ I love water types, and Primarina's one of my favorites among them. And Lucario's so versatile you can use them on a variety of teams.

I am old school and played gen 1 on the ooold game boy (woke screeches sounds in the distance) I had Parasect, Gyarados, Nidoking, Sandslash, Kingler and Pinsir

I use gyrados a lot, actually. He’s a solid pocket monster.

My teams depend on what game I’m playing. Also, I do something completely different when it comes to my top Pokémon. This might sound silly, but I role play my Pokémon as if they were in Star Trek, each with their own ranks with my starter always being the Captain (and highest level). The main crew of 10 are in their own box in the PC (called “The Bridge”) and they all have to be first introed in the Generation of that game (their ships are named after the region they’re from…U.S.S. Sinnoh, U.S.S. Galor, U.S.S. Kano, and so forth). All my Pokémon have their own names, too.

I haven’t played a lot of the older games in a while, so my memory of the Crews in the older games is a bit rusty. I’m currently playing BrilliantDiamond and Sword (which I had to restart since I replaced my Switch Lite with a regular Switch) so those Crews I’m currently working with. So as an example, I’ll name off the crew of the “U.S.S. Sinnoh:”

Luxray is just an excellent Pokémon all around! I really like infernape, too. I wonder how many people actually give their little monsters nicknames. I always nickname mine, but when I watch other play, I don’t often see them doing it. Oh! And the Star Trek theme sounds like a fun idea.

Also, hope you noticed, but I also tend to keep a 5:5 ratio between male and female Pokémon, and the Captain/starter isn’t always limited to being males, either. In some of my games, I pushed heavily for a female starter (Kanto, Johto, Unova, and currently Galor have female Captains). I like to keep an even playing field.
