Hey Zae, where have you been?
I'm gonna copy-paste what I put in my Discord server on Monday as I can't be bothered to retype it out completely as from right now.
Update on stuffs on my end, it's been a very expensive, stressful, and rough week y'all. Content warning; Animal medical emergency.
Thursday night into Friday morning Vorasha vomited profusely multiple times. I found all the evidence of it in the morning, but she was doing okay. Just a stomach bug but she got it out of her system. That night we realized she didn't eat any of her food. Every vet was closed by that point and we had to wait it out till the next morning where she was still vomiting even though she looked okay even at that point. Well Saturday almost every vet is closed. I found one to take her to 20min away where they didn't see anything inherently wrong through an X-ray and checkup. Ultrasound was the next step but they'd have to get in a specialist with the tech and that would have been two days away on Monday. Their thoughts was a stomach bug and she'll recover after she's had a chance to get some fluids in her.
Well she didn't eat anything else. After about 3 days total by now where she didn't eat and barely drank I had to take her to the emergency vet farther away where they held her overnight and gave her all the fluids and blood tests. At this point I was genuinely worried and had very little sleep. Their results pretty much said that she's not eaten anything for 4 days and not much else to show she was sick... Including barely getting her to lick food and then vomit it up even with anti-nausea medication. Today they got an ultrasound and it's almost certainly an obstructed gut.
They're doing surgery tonight. It's almost 100% going to be fine and likely tomorrow afternoon I can pick her up where she's hopefully going to rest after this ordeal. And I'll be looking into how to prevent her from eating whatever-the-fuck it was she ate.
I'm looking at a very large bill. On top of what I already paid to do attic work that was planned for the end of this month, which that was pushed back even farther. I've not been this stressed or paid this much in a month since I bought the fucking house. I'm forever thankful to have family able to help when these types of things happen, as well as having funds set aside for emergencies like this.
That being said, there's the reason for the absolute radio silence. Went from trying to rest after finish major projects (and failing due to various events-in-a-row not letting me sleep in), straight to major medical emergency risking the life of my 9 month old kitten, to vet bills that would have been much less if this had happened even one day earlier. I have absolutely no idea what I'll be doing this week as I'm still completely brain fried. So don't be too surprised if I don't reply to much for a bit, even here in the server.
TLDR; shark isn't allowed to sleep in.
Update! Actually update from right now as I'm posting this journal. Vorasha is home and safe. She has no issues right now other than her stitches, but she's being a good girl and not messing with them too much. They were able to do the surgery with even less intrusive cutting than originally thought so she had an even easier time. I'm still gonna be quiet as I get back my energy and such. Thank you all for understanding <3
