its a smaller furry instance, the admin is a friend local in new england. it obvz federates with meow so you can follow everyone there and they can follow back. lmk if thatd be an acceptable alternative!

I used to be active on meow.social, someone I know IRL invited me to BlueSky and I am *slightly* more active there. I think that there's way too much social media for me to monitor and handle, though I can safely say that I would be avoiding X/Twitter for a long time. I wish that meow.social would be a tad more active, but I can also appreciate close-knitted communities that feel much mor curated.

I absolutely agree, I wish that the expectation wasn't for us all to try to maintain 5+ different sites. I am heavily considering quitting my job and going back to drawing for the furry fandom full time, but I'm anxious just thinking about trying to be active on all these platforms (and I dread ever touching Twitter again). I still really like being here on FA, and Tumblr and Instagram are fine - Mastodon is great but it's a little bit of work for some folks to get used to I think, and there's always the risk of the instance you use getting shut down. There is definitely more of a sense of actual community there though for sure! As an artist hoping to make enough money to cover bills, it's daunting trying to figure out how to balance all of the constantly changing platforms with doing the actual art @_@ But hey it's good to hear from you, and I hope you're doing alright yourself!
