This is one of my paychecks. I make roughly $400 every two weeks. $800 a month. That translates to less than $10,000 per year. Just so you're aware, the federal poverty line is slightly over $15K.
I am in poverty. I AM a starving artist.
My monthly bills are as follows:
$460 for rent
$40 for internet
$40-80, or more, for electric (split with 3 housemates)
$110 for credit card (needed it to get a vehicle)
$95 for phone
Total: $745 per month. That's 93% of my income going to just keeping a roof over my head. This doesn't even include groceries.
I am actively job hunting, but it is a nightmare. I am trying to get more work at my current job, but they don't want to give it. I have had too many health complications to donate plasma, something I used to do to make ends meet. I need you to understand how dire and perilous my situation actually is.
