Happy New Year! Bye, 2023!

Looks like 2023 has come to a close, and with it one of the more chaotic years of my life.
On the downside:
- I lost my mom back in February, which made the rest of the year a pretty huge struggle. A lot of "firsts" without her and I feel into a pretty huge depression spiral about it.
- Depression really took hold of my life for a big chunk of the end of the year. It was a struggle but I've managed to crawl my way back out of it.
- Covid! Caught it over the holidays, still symptomatic (started on the 26th) which is a pretty crap way to end the year...
But on the upside:
- I found a great outlet in writing and drawing. While I haven't been as productive as I would like to be due to the aforementioned depression, I still want to pursue them. I've already been planning something fun for Micro May to push myself this coming year.
- I made a number of close friends that I am incredibly grateful to have in my life. All the people who have reached out to me and chatted with me made the year much better. I definitely wish I'd had more energy to be proactive, but that's a goal for next year!
- I moved! Uprooted from the SF Bay area and am now living back in Texas in the Austin area. A big part of that was to be closer to my dad, and being closer to family has done wonders for my mental health.
So what's next?
First, I need to finish recovering from Covid. This has been kicking my ass so I need to focus on recovery. I had plans to like, get some stories drafted out these past few days but Covid really messed them up.
I want to get back into my writing and drawing. I want to set some small, less detailed projects so I can get back into the swing of things and really work on improving. I've also got a backlog of art comms I need to post, so I'll use that as a chance to do a little bit of light writing to go with 'em :3
Anyhow, that's my update!
Happy new year to all of y'all!

And I hope your new year is going well ^_^
It was definitely a rough year but I found a lot of comfort and joy in my writing and meeting folks!
Definitely glad things are looking up.
