If there is one thing that has defined the Jimmy Newman Medal Nominees for 2023 is that most of them have been from a cluster of just a few teams. Teams like Perth, Geelong, Brisbane and Hobart have had two or more rookies nominated this season while teams like Cairns, Darwin and Fremantle have yet to see a rookie of theirs get nominated this season. This week, A team that has yet to get a nominee this year will join the list as Gold Coast would see one of their rookies nominated for the award.
