Round 16: Ethan Cobb (Gold Coast Dragons)
Sometimes, It’s the players you didn’t expect to have a massive impact when drafted who end up having the biggest impact of all. A lot of people didn’t expect Ethan Cobb to have much of an impact in the FAFL when he was drafted by the Gold Coast Dragons but Cobb has really surprised a lot of people this season when he stepped up to replace the injured Rachel Boseman who was out with a long-term injury. The stint went so well that Cobb was able to stay in the squad when Boseman came back.
When Charlie Waldroup went down with an injury during the Dragons game against the Storm, Gold Coast knew who to call on and Ethan has shown why he’s been a valued contributor to the Dragons in Season 2023. With 18 disposals, 8 marks and 4 tackles, He was not only able to help the Dragons score a win but also snagged the Jimmy Newman Medal Nomination for Round 16.
Hopefully Ethan can continue his positive momentum and continue to pave his way forward in the FAFL.
