Edit: This may only be affecting me. I can't confirm it happening to anyone else yet.
I'm not sure what caused it to happen, but it's honestly making me pretty upset. I was going through my watch listing digging for a specific username and noticed something missing in the same letter area of the list. I double and triple checked and sure enough a user was gone. An artist I was friends with unfortunately passed away about a decade ago, seemingly disappeared
Worse, I tried to rectify this affront by rewatching him, and it told me I can't watch a deceased user. I remember years ago very rarely you would randomly lose people on your watchlist and have to re-watch them if you actually caught it. Is this the same thing? I'm sure of two names that would have been on there.
I need other people to check on this. I have found that the wife of the person who I searched for whose account has not logged in since 2010 still has the deceased user in their watchlist, so I'm wondering if it's something that the site only checks if you log in and use the site actively.
Edit: I'm managing to find deceased users on some old account watchlists.

Like its not that hard to leave these accounts alone
Please feel free to look into this yourself if you are unfortunate enough to have known someone in your list that had the eternity symbol next to their name.
I went to my watch list and did a search on the '∞' symbol, and it's still showing me as watching the dozen or so people who have passed away.
So, not sure what's happening on your end. Maybe they're going through it alphabetically, and haven't reached the P's yet, while your name starts with an A.
I can think of two names for sure, bleh.
No idea how or why that happened, and it seemed to be totally random as to who they were.
I don't really keep track of my watch count, so if that number changes without me doing anything, I wouldn't really notice, so I have no idea if that's still happening or not.
