I giggle a little every time I see a page with them hidden and then there's a shout of like 'Thanks for favoriting <LEWD AF FA URL>'. I feel like that could be a good flex anytime I see a page with hidden favorites. I guess they don't even have to have favorited anything because they can't prove they didn't! I'll just start thanking those people for favoriting your picture of Gloria. >:3

I actually tried to bypass it with some shenanigans but it doesn't work. Can still get into galleries of deactivated pages at least. The yeen knows how to scavenge. Even deleted files are not safe from my keen nose. X)

Oh goodness, I don't have a way to see other's DMs, aside from an incident years ago where my account token got swapped with another user's and we saw all sorts of notifications swapped out. Getting into those would get me in a lot of trouble. XP

It just exacerbates the discoverability of your stuff. There's too many people leaving already for the siren song of social media for clout which is just eroding away the long term legacy of content.

I could use my own comic here as an example. I don't believe it's still possible to reach numbers like 3000 favorites or 20,000views on a submission(for me anyway). Too many people will never see what I post again.

The previous site administration certainly did everything they could to drive people off with some of the insane content policies they tried to push at points.

Mmmm that is true, seems all these policies not only protect or prevent the bad but it also makes it harder to get work seen and in cases for me I've gotten worried about what to say and post

Something particularly painful is how many pages are getting deleted recently.
New accounts are still being made, but posting art is rare and older galleries with a chunk of the art on the site are vanishing.
It feels like a ghost town now, than a hub.

I never liked social media for this stuff because it's too hard to find art on there.
It's more for quick updates than being an art gallery.
Artists leave for microblog sites and vanish into the cloud of everything else going on online.

Yeah they all forget that they only can do what they do now as a temporary benefit. You need places like this for such an ecosystem to even exist.

And the outright page deletions are the most disturbing trend by far. So many people who have no care at all for leaving a legacy. If they were gone tomorrow, they social media presence would be gone and they would never be found again. At least here there's something centralized.

Full agreement on the hidden favorites thing. I've found a LOT of other artists to follow (and a bunch of hot vore art!) from other peoples' favorites. There oughta be a law!!

If someone is favoriting a ton of stuff on my page or watching me, it's part of the process to raid their favorites!

God nothing quite annoys me as finding some "old" hot art, clicking the link, just for the page to be deactivated but in that HORRIBLE way where I can browse the gallery with the thumbnail and leave faves, but as soon as I try to access the profile, I get the error.
At least add the new account to the footer!

Yeah I feel like account deactivation is one of the most frustrating things someone can do. Kinda the reverse side of the gallery nuke coin. It's a bad feature from social media that normal well adjusted people don't use.

I used to work as an archivist and I certainly have opinions on gallery sites allowing you to wipe years of content because you decided your sona should be a different species now, or because "I don't want to customers to see old stuff I think it's ugly", or because you don't like the name of the account (my one exception is trans people wanting a hard break, because I get it)

I've already had issues where a person tagged in art literally got FA to delete their page and their user icons broke, though it eventually went back to having a blank icon like a default user. Outright page deletion is the worst offender of all because you can't even point people to the name related to the works.

I actually go out of my way where if I see an abandoned page that was wiped I'll post a shout saying 'Art deserves to exist' with a link to their entire history of submissions on Furchiver. It just sickens me so much seeing people trying to erase their entire legacy forever, or trying to destroy their earliest art, which is a precious thing I want to see.
