There's always been an FA archive preserving everything

Well okay, not literally everything, but it's got over 43 million files from Furaffinity stored and only taking 14TB in total. It's been running for a long time now.
At this time people are in a panic FA is going to disappear(I find this unlikely) and needing to be told about options like SoFurry, Weasyl, Itaku, and Inkbunny that have been around for years, I want to make sure you're aware of Furarchiver.net.
Furarchiver copies everything uploaded on FA.
Furarchiver doesn't care if the artist deleted everything.
Furarchiver doesn't care if the artist deleted their entire account.
Furarchiver doesn't care if the artist disabled access to their userpage.
Furarchiver doesn't care if Furaffinity pulls the plug tomorrow.
The submissions are perpetually safe there regardless of the whims of site finances or an artist having a mental health crisis of 'Going Pro'.
So if you're worried about the continued existence of FA, remember to copy your watchlist down, and then no matter what happens, you can always pull them up on Furarchiver. Heck, while you're at it, you can pull up everybody who tried to erase the legacy of their art forever. Blondevelvet18? Sammy73? Jamkitsune maybe? Voraciousnumbat's stuff he wiped? All that stuff Armorine wiped out before he came back? It's been here the entire time even if they don't appreciate it and want it gone.
I'm a strong proponent that art has a right to exist, and Furarchiver is ultimately a good thing despite potential edge case negatives to give art a chance even when the artist or server expenses want to destroy it forever. So relax, at least a little. The art is safe, though the comments and interactions are not.
Edit: it appears there may be some manual elements involved with Furarchiver. If in doubt, query it for artists you like and ask it to check for content if nothing comes up!

but yes good advice on taking a copy of my watch list, didn't think of doing that
Just because one chapter ends, doesn't mean a new fresh one could begin, right?
Like it might still be like losing a childhood pet, you can't really 'replace' a living human being. You can have a 'fresh start #2' sure, but idk yeah. People and pets aren't really quite 'replacable'. New experiences sure, maybe replaceable by metrics but most people seem to see it as chapters.
Not sure what will happen. i guess it's easier to walk away as a person who a summer and then wandered off than a person who built their life on it. But some people seem to have people always around them coming by and happy to see them.
Others idk, sometimes reality is sweet and kind, others it's harsh and whatever happened was a wake up call. If people pass away and all that's left in the furry fandom is memories and their porn/Smut.. I.. i have no idea what kind of legacy that is. but i guess throw stones from glass houses, get reminded of 52 pages of displacer beast porn.
So I could upload art there?
Is it because I have art that wasnt made by me?
Maybe I will make a journal asking about it see if anyone knows more about it.
Thank you for answering my comments and telling people about this too 💗💗💗
If you never made this I would not know about it at all
And yeah, basically no one knows about it, and it's really reassuring no longer needing to worry about the ease with which an artist can just wipe away their entire history so easily now on here.
Though I'll have to find out how this works because it would be great to place art there yourself
While it has this account of mine, it doesn't appear to have a cache of my furry con photos account, rats-eye-view.
I've had that account for 12 years now, with over 8000 images uploaded, yet furarchiver doesn't find that name, and letting it go through the search process, turned up '1' image.
Fortunately, I already have full backups of all of my stuff on external hard drives, but I'm sure there will be plenty of other accounts here on FA where furarchiver will have nothing saved of them.
I've been using the archive here and there. It seems to re-index all its content periodically. If you happen to do your research while the indexing isn't completed, you might get partial or no results. If that's the case, usually waiting a day or two should resolve the issue.
It might come back to haunt you years later
