Might I ask, why are you learning Russian in the first place?

I have always found it fascinating how alien it appears to a naive Anglo and I wanted to figure that out. I also have a very dear Russian friend at whose family farm I milked animals for a couple years (every day 5am). Her whole fam immigrated when she was like 4 and they all still spoke it at home so I got lots of exposure. Friendo taught me the alphabet and i went from there.

It has been going on for years. The old Underdog cartoon had a villain name Simon Bar Sinister. In Heraldry the bar sinister means someone is a bastard.

I started learning it in undergrad and it was pretty fun but kinda fell off of it. Then Russia got hyperweird about LGBT people and I kinda didn't have the motivation to pick it up a bit. :(

So that was how I started studying Esperanto for a while, because a. Esperanto was easy enough to learn that I could say I was taking a break by studying it and b. there were no governments doing awful things with Esperanto
