Much has changed
Four years since my last journal.
I see a lot of you here on FurAffinity and I still check this site from time to time, but I am not uploading much here. Nor do I take commissions. I feel bad when people ask me for them, because that is not a promise I can keep. I draw deer and horses and people and sometimes other animals, but hardly any furries at this time. I just draw what I feel like drawing. Or I paint nonsense. Candi and Ninevah are still alive and well but even they barely make an appearance on my Patreon. Maybe that will change, who knows. Most of my sketches never get scanned in.
Why?
I met all my goals. Everything I wanted to say with my art, everything I needed to accomplish. The skill level I hit, the cute stories I wrote, the funny jokes- that is mostly here for free and I do not need the money. Clearly I need new artistic goals, but the only ideas that matter to me now are stories. Mine or yours.
So I love reading Rigsby, Wi or Zandar's Saga or Roz's books or making up my own stories in my head. Always have. I also use my own work experiences to fuel Candi's many woes and that requires me to change details and turn coworkers into furries, but mostly I invent scenarios for my own amusement. And a good portion of that is not furry.
Do you guys want non-anthro comics about me learning to ride horses? Or crazy real life situations? I would die of embarrassment if anyone recognized themselves in my comics, which is why I turned them into dogs and elves. But even with that, most of my wacky RL stories would make it easy to identify people so I better not risk it- Peggy was right about autobio comics being hurtful to friends and family. And I never wish to hurt anyone.
Anyhow, It's Saturday so I need to get my riding gear and helmet ready for the lesson horses. Put leather conditioner on my new cowboy boots. Tie my hair back.
But before I go, sketch a few of my favorite things.

If you have accomplished all you hoped to, then you can set a new goal if you want, or enjoy what you achieved.
The fandom itself has changed an awful lot since then. Artists that do traditional works and handing out sketchbooks just seems to have faded away now with Dealers Rooms at cons being filled with vendors selling mass produced charms or feeding into the obsession with enamel pins.
Really anymore my sketchbooks come back empty from cons rather than being filled with art. Dealers Rooms where I used to chat and lurk at for hours with artists now I just look around in one or two times over the entire weekend and never go back.
I still enjoy looking back through the art pieces you left in my books during those awesome times at furry cons. Someday I'd still love to get a commission from you again.

I think that you should share whatever you're into. People are likely to enjoy it.
I'm glad you're doing all right. It's okay if creating and posting art just doesn't scratch the same itch any longer. New goals are fine, but they need to make sense for you, so I hope you continue to find things to work on that really matter to you.
Whatever you wish to post, I will be very glad to see.
To be honest, it's nice to see an artist with a distinctive style. So much of what I see in furry art is nice...but not very distinctive. Your artwork, though, I can spot easily.
Learned thru the ages that RL is messy, so whatever you need to do to take care of yourself and keep you happy, do it!
Thanks for the update. Always happy to hear from inspirations.
Back when I started learning to draw, there were a few artists that REALLY inspired me to learn... you were DEF on of them.
THAT Said, yes, you DO draw horses amazingly well. Have you considered making drawing tutorials to help new artists along? Inspire a whole new generation!
Just a thought.
Waving as you ride off into the sunset... Say who was that masked artist?
Didn't know you were a horse person, though far more likely than not I just was not paying attention. Best of luck and happy trails!

and have added far more than enough to the community to earn some undying respect.
Much has changed for all of us, and part of that has been the diversification of people
and interests on this site, and in this community in general.
Autobiographical art can indeed implicate some people
who might prefer to keep private, but doodles of deer, horses and humans?
There is absolutely a demand for that kind of casual creativity, especially from a living legend!
Best f luck in reconciling your old interests with your current and future ones!
Even if you choose to remain in your dignified retirement from the fandom,
just occasional update journals like this one would be dearly welcome.
...but that's my opinion.
You don't see that very often around here. :)
Nothing else to add, but thanks for sharing a bit of yourself with us. Happy Riding โซ
Honestly I'd love to see any of your work, yes I do really like anthropomorphic work but I like all of your work as imo artists should explore any and all topics.
But you animal pieces are always fantastic. Personally I would love to have commissioned you do a piece of my late pet crow Lockheed since you do birds fantastically. But drawing from your personal experiences often creates the best stories.
Plus I miss seeing your art, thats why I was placing Candi in the Chef Vrghr gags, because I could see her involved, and like I said recently, a good restaurant needs decent waitstaff.
Still, hey tell us these stories in comic for or whatever medium you enjoy the most.
Oh and I'm happy to see you are still around after all these years!
I mean it when I say I really am happy about the art you've shared with us already! We still have some of your bunny magnets from years ago, and every time I look at them I smile because your style is so adorable and fun!
Whatever art you choose to share is welcome! If you also choose not to share art, that's OK, too! ๐
I wouldn't mind seeing non-anthro art here, if you felt like drawing and sharing it!
Take care of yourself! ๐
As long as you still have that gift to visually depict things in a
coherent manner, the creative possibilities are endless.
Either way, it's good to see you still out there.
Pursue what you love, for we enjoy seeing whatever you create! :D
I also like horses, so I'm a bit of a sucker for that.
Blender is free and runs decently enough on potato quality computers.
From one rider to another, I'd honestly love to see humorous horse riding comics. โงโ โโ (โ โฐโ โฟโ โฐโ )โ โโ โง
I mean, Like, I do have a world, I do have people, I do have a plot and I do have the money...
Is it that what you are open for?
That is, stories for a hobby project I support.
Which is about shorks, humans and rubber.
And other stuff.
