Farewell to Funimation + Dirty Pair Movie Night

Well this is a horrid early birthday surprise, but I suspected it was coming for a while. Ever since Funimation and Crunchyroll merged I've been wondering which was gonna stick around. In all honesty I thought Funimation would have kept their name over Crunchyroll but I guess that didn't work out. I'm kinda glad I haven't renewed my subscriptions with either, I don't have much time to binge my showlist, that and because I had lots of DVDs and Blu Rays to still go through. Oddly enough most of those purchases usually included a digital code for my Funimation membership where I could watch them at any time free of charge. Not any more it seems CR isn't going to support my digital library and that is the main reason why I still decide to support physical media. I mean it happened to me before with certain Playstation game, and after Sony got rid of it's Discovery content and stuff started getting dropped from Netflix and Disney. Heck, I argued my case with my own family when the internet went down during a storm and they couldn't watch their stuff, but I could, because I still have a portable blu ray player and discs. ^_^
So are you pro physical media? Or are you also a slave to convience of digital? I hate to say I belong to both camps, though I am trying to get more physical stuff. In the meantime, lets enjoy some more old school fan service with a trio of Dirty Pair films. Funny enough, I've only seen Dirty Pair Flash. Did buy the original collection before someone showed me that they were online. Ah well.
Dirty Pair: Affair in Nolandia and Flight 005 Conspiracy. Eng Dub
Dirty Pair: Project Eden. Eng Dub
EDIT: Seems I'm unable to show vid links of the Japanese dub version of the movies, but I can at least still share the link to their playlist on YT.

Hope you all enjoy, and remember to keep your physical collections just in case.

FA+

Crunchyroll has gotten into the habit of politicizing some of their content, rewriting some translations and straight-out spoiling plot points in upcoming shows in order to virtue signal. Now they are raising their fees and using other studios products to push their own narratives.
I stopped using them years ago, but this insures they'll never see another cent from me.
This is literally the only reason I still prefer DVDs over downloads -- because I'm most likely to watch a movie when my internet is down.

Same. I can tolerate digital if it still counts as owning the product, but I refuse to put up with "always on" or "live service" anything. For the same reason: If I can't do it offline, I probably won't do it ever.
As soon as Sony started doing dumb stuff like thinking bout going digital only, I knew it was time to stock up on physical media.
The sad part is regardless of fan outcry of any bad idea, the bad idea is still in their minds to one day pull off. And they will find a way to do no matter how long ago it was implied.
still think it's weird they opted to keep crunchyroll out of those two lisances, you'd think it was the worse title.
Aye matey! While I dare not risk the torrential Seas again I can always find a port in the land of Ebay. Bootleggers are always good with me. Except the Chinese ones, those bastards cheated me one too many times.
Makes me glad I held onto my Mini Consoles. I am tempted to buy one of those raspberry pi machines with all the emulators, but I am hesitant.
I was a bit disappointed with the arcade stick I got at the mall though. Lots and lots of arcade games though a few repeats such as the KOF and SF games with mods. But the stick is a 2 player type and it is huge and heavy, and something is either wrong with the connection because I get some blue lines and dots on the screen when it is all black.
Still fun as hell though. Simpsons arcade, Men, the 2 Dungeons and Dragons beat em ups. Metal Slug, though the censored ones sadly.
Dunno if it was worth the $300 I put into it but it was much better than the Arcade One Up machine my friend got. 4 games for over $500 and he still had to put together the thing.
Honestly I'd understand the $500 for arcade cabinet if he had some place where people were actually putting quarters into it and he was making back some of his money not all of it cuz he's still be paying monthly for however much juice it cost around the cabinet
Blitz which has 4 games, a hunting one with 4 games, we're both $500.
But they also had a Ms. Pac Man with 11 extra old school arcade games for the same price plus a Midway Mortal Kombat one that had 4 MK games plus 8 extra games. Same price.
Personally, I want a Rampage arcade cabinet. ^_^
