Some either sell for a flat rate or a per-word rate (per-word is usually around $0.01)

Writing isn’t as taxing as artwork so you can definitely price them lower

I recently got a comm from someone who did 0.04 $ per word. So 1000 ~ 1500 words is 40 to 60 dollars. That can be about 2 pages of text (google doc, 11 font or so). Adjust accordingly to your desires.

I see hmm, I guess I could try that, maybe less since I cant guarantee il be good at it haha. I tend to use word and convert them into a pdf, would 11 font in word be around the same in google doc?

Not exactly sure, since i almost never use word. I would figure they are though, given that google docs is supposed to be a google version of word. My method for writing is to use google docs, then convert to pdf. I've yet to monetize it though. Mebbe i should lol~

For my comms, I have a base price of $20 for 2,000 words, then +$15 for every additional 1,000 words. Might just be a me thing, but it feels easier and more flexible to work with larger increments like that. That said, a per-word rate can still work.

Me personally, I try to price it based on word count. Like 2-6k words from me is $10 and then 8-10k & 10k+ is $20.

I usually do my prices in a grouped # and do a flat rate whilst staying as affordable as possible

I do a flat rate. $20 for 5 pages. If they want a bit more, I charge a bit more (unless it's because I'm really into the story). I've thought about charging more, but it's honestly whatever you're comfortable doing!

A good friend told me it's about the amount of content for a story versus the difficulty of creation for you. For me my usual rate is about 14$ per 1000 words since I usually tend to have longer, slow-burn types of wg or tf stories. Like other people have said your also free to adjust as you get used to the process and your own limitations.

I'd say to steer clear of charging per page, as when you do that there are a lot of factors that can lead to a customer being disappointed. If it's a story with a lot of dialogue, for example, you'll fill up the pages quite fast and it could be disappointing for the customer.

I prefer the consistency of charging per word or per thousand words. Much easier and as for pricing, I'd say consider how quickly you can write and factor that into it. If you're just starting out I'd recommend starting a bit low and adjusting upwards as you go and as demand increases!

probably starting low is a good idea yeah, since i dont have an idea on how "quickly" i can write, since i usually just spend till 5am writing my stories for art i get, so people seem interested lol

I've been trying to figure that out myself.

When I started out, I based it mostly on how long it took me to draft something. I think it was around $15 per 1000 words, since 1k per hour was about my speed once I got going. Since then I've just been bumping it up based on improving quality and demand.

I do think charging by the word is the way to go, since charging by the page opens a bunch of questions on formatting.
