Commission/Barter Waitlist
If you are interested in a commission please reply or message me! I'm only taking one at a time atm but I've had a few people ask about getting one and I dont wanna lose track of people.
So if you're serious about getting one let me know youd like to be on the waitlist, give me a basic idea of what youre after (like level of completion and general subject), and I will contact people in order as I get things finished
I will be putting the waitlist at the end of the priceguide https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10820276/ and probably delete this journal after a week or so.
You can be anon if you like.
Of course read all the rules/notes first.
If when I message you you can't get the comm, I'll move to the next person on the list and you'll be bumped to the next spot. If you still can't get it the next time you will get the choice of being removed from the list or simply moved to the end of it.

I don't think I fall into any of your yikes categories. I don't even have social media because I value my mental health, but the way everyone these days is constantly calling one another the most vile types of things for disagreeing and sociopaths everywhere are just blocking everyone they can't manipulate I just can't feel safe making that one-sided of a contract with an artist. That's my feedback I guess. I do wish you the best of luck with the bartering arrangements, anything that takes away from Paypal and their damaging influence as a payment processor is fine with me.
And I don’t have to pay for that it’s just basic dmca rules all websites have. Any artist you’ve ever commed could theoretically one day decide they don’t want their art posted anywhere besides their gallery and take down every piece you have posted.
All “small time” art that isn’t owned by some big corp like Disney works that way unless stated otherwise. Selling the complete rights to an art piece starts in the thousands and can go even higher depending on the circumstances. If that was how I did things once I had been paid the piece would legally belong to whomever bought the rights. Regardless of if they did or got exposed for something nasty down the road.
I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt here but this is a pretty big red flag on your part. I don’t know what you’re referring to with “disagreeing” but it sounds a lot like people who like to say wanting trans people dead or banning abortion is just “a different opinion”. Human rights are not “opinions”. I
I put those “yikes categories” there with the exact purpose of turning off the people who fall into them, my art is not for them. I have a very low tolerance for shitty racist, phobic, or general nasty stuff, considering I fall under all their hated categories except for one. I think you could understand why I wouldn’t want to work with someone who hates most of my being.
If that’s not what you’re referring to then I respect your feedback. Obviously I can’t and won’t force you to buy or trade with me, interacting with my posts is plenty.
A DMCA is not an automatic win if you submit one, it is the first part of a process that if they challenge it you must file a suit against them within a timeframe or the matter is considered dropped. I do not consider it likely an artist would win a counter-DMCA for personal use of commissioned art if someone were to counterfile against them and they went ahead and committed to a lawsuit. With your terms maybe, but the language could be so widely interpreted, especially if a court was deciding if the person violated a category or not since it would rest in the realm of opinion. A DMCA case would easily cost you thousands of dollars with your best case scenario being the art has to come down, but there's no damages to recover on personal use art, so you could financially ruin yourself if you were to go firing them off without regard to the immense financial hurdle required to access our justice system.
My point about disagreements is that a lot of people online these days are quite frankly mentally unstable, tempermental, short fused, and see anyone as a mortal enemy to be destroyed if they don't submit to their exact views. People supposedly on the same side just throwing the most vile false accusations and lies at one another trying to convince their peers that the other needs to be banished in a struggle for social dominance. I have no way to gauge the complexities of how you would judge someone because I haven't lived your experiences. I'm an ally on my terms, not someone else's. Ultimately someone's going to see people as an ally or enemy as they wish, and it's never affected how I go about my life because I don't bow down to zealots or bullies no matter how righteous their cause because I believe I know better ways. But that also means you could suddenly turn on me for the smallest misunderstanding 20 years from now, and I can't establish a commissioner relationship with an artist when I don't have any way to know I can trust that sort of one sided deal. I have never been much for risk taking, so your terms quite alarm me given the unknown factors of your own ideological stances over entire decades.
That's my feedback. I consider it my duty to give patronage to artists whose work I enjoy and then share the work so the furry community grows in its content and connections between people, but for a nervous risk-averse person like me, you've presented me with an obstacle course a bit too cryptic for me to step into it. It's not about if i'm hiding some terrible personal sin at all. It's that as soon as any form of 'if' enters the equation I can't control, it's not something I want looming over me for the next 30 years.
Usually all a small commissioner is purchasing is just guided/custom art, sometimes the full sized file for personal use, very rarely is it full rights.
Idk I’ve seen a half dozen dramas pop up over the years when some commissioner learns that they don’t actually “own” the art without significant fees. I haven’t seen one in a while or I’d pull it up for reference. The lawyer artists know that area way better then me.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of someone countering an art dmca so I honestly don’t know if that would actually play out. To my understanding all an artist has to do is prove they made the original to get it taken down, there really isn’t a way a commissioner could try and counter that.
Legally it’s all kinda fucky because most people either don’t have contracts or have very loose contracts. Mine isn’t even really a contract it’s just something that the other person should ideally agree with. If they lie about something to get horny art that’s on them not me, since it has little to no legal binding.
You sound like you’ve been in the most toxic corners of fandoms, I know what you mean. I try and steer clear of those sections of the fandoms, callouts and such should be for legitimate harm not petty drama.
In the end my stuff is “you buy me thing and I make you art”. I can revoke public posting privileges since I have copyright of the actual art but have no real way of revoking private usage if the files have already been exchanged. If that’s not what you’re comfortable with that’s fine, that’s why I put the notes/rules there. I like to think I’m reasonable in not judging people without reasonable proof.
It sounds like you have an inherent distrust of me from the get go, and while it stings a bit I knew my wording and such for the barter stuff was harsh and potentially off putting when I posted it. But I didn’t wanna tiptoe and risk my personal boundaries either. I’m extremely protective of my art.
Well it’s good there’s no terrible sin. Forgive me if I seemed defensive, I’ve had way too many instances of finding out people I respected were actually horrible and just hid it behind a front. The way you wrote unfortunately reminded me of the way those kinds of people talk to try and dodge around their hate and make it seem lesser.
As a bit of a control freak myself I can understand the hesitation.
I hope you can still enjoy the other content I post regardless.
