Gratz on finishing the move, man! It'll be strange for a while, sleeping in a new place. Even if you have no problem sleeping (like I do), it'll still feel a little strange. And happy. Really weird mix of stuff, honestly. It'll take a bit to get used to all that, but the good news is now you're in a much better place with more space!

I actually am sleeping pretty well now. Which is funny because the closet has mirrored doors and... well, I kinda really don't like mirrors in the bedroom, in the dark. LoL.

I do need to get some low energy ambient lighting of some kind for the living room at night. If I turn all the lights off, it's blacker than the Pit, which is surprising and a bit unsettling.

I'm lucky in that I have enough light in my room, via random small LEDs, that my eyes will adjust enough to let me exit my room in the dark if I need to. That, and my bed is right across from the door to my room (it's maybe three feet from it), so I don't need to worry about going too far or running into too many things.

I'm glad that you're sleeping well despite the mirrors! I'm not a fan of the idea of them being in a room I'm sleeping in, either. Do you have them covered in anything? Maybe if you could cover them in something, it would help more.

Nah I don't have them covered. But my nightstand is on that side of the bed, and the lamp kinda helps block the view a bit so when I roll over I'm not seeing my own face staring back at me. There's probably other psychological stuff that I've also unconsciously gotten past, but who knows what those would be. I could absolutely get covers for them; I could get curtain rods and mount some blackouts over top of them. I might do that in the future, if I feel replacing them entirely isn't an option.

These doors are as old as balls and missing parts so they're sagging and catching everywhere. It might be more efficient just to buy new runners and doors and replace the lot. But that's a future-me project.

Ironically I found a way around the low-light thing. I forgot how my new PC has gamer-RGB LEDs built into it, so if I leave the computer on at night (as I tend to do), it provides some nice ambient lighting that's not too bright. Also got an led sticky strip my sister gave me for my desk, but I need to get a new battery for the remote.

That's what I did in my bathroom. My shower is blocked off by sliding glass doors, but I don't like them, so I bought a shower rod at Menards and a bathroom set (curtain, a rug to go in front of the tub, a 'U' rug to go in front of the toilet and a lid cover) off of TEMU. So now my shower has a legitimate Dragon curtain in front of it and feels like an actual shower.

I used to have one of those LED strips for my computer, but it kept falling off (either the glue wasn't the best, or the heat from the comp kept melting it), so I just took it off. But still, my eyes adjust enough to where I can see where I'm going and not trip over anything or bash my shins into my dresser. Of course, it helps that my door is maybe 3-4 feet from my bed.

You're absolutely right about the LED strip; the glue was weak as shit. So it's just on the floor behind my desk now. LOL. I'll have to get some cleartape and tape it up.

Careful about TEMU. Check your credit records CAREFULLY. You might find that there's a whole bunch of purchases you didn't make that are all linked through TEMU. My friend found that out; he'd ordered one thing and then noticed that he was getting more and more charges. All these companies from afar were putting charges through his card. Things like $25 to $45 bucks, sometimes attempting three times a day. Always a new company being bought from.

Yeah, mine's behind my computer just laying on the floor. I might try to put it back up at some point with some tape or whatever, but I just can't be bothered right now. xD

I haven't had a problem with TEMU yet, and neither has my sister, but I'll definitely keep that in mind. I've heard those things about Ali Express, though, which is why I never bought anything from them. TEMU has been great to me so far, so I hope that sort of thing never happens.

I've just always found it hard to date, hard to get to know anyone. If I meet someone casually, it's chill. The moment personal affections come into play, I'm off the maps in 'Here there be Monsters' unknown territory. I can't tell when someone's flirting or just being polite; the whole deal. And I always have to temper my emotions because if I really like something, I tend to get really enthusiastic... which can set people off. So I gotta keep things at a 5 out of 10 at all times, which leads to a lot of 'is it too much emotion if I say this, or do this?' stuff.

I totally get that. I'm all fine and dandy, bein' my usual goofball self with my weird sense of humor, then I'll attract somebody and my mind goes into "Shit!" mode, and I panic over everything I say and do. I get so worried about saying or doing something to push them away, that I end up saying or doing something to push them away. Completely blocking out the part where it was my personality and humor that attracted them to me in the *first* place. :/

Pretty much. I go from carefree to being very careful what I say and do because I don't wanna offend or scare away the person I'm interested in. So it's kinda easier to just...not be interested anymore. I mean, on a surface level, I let myself be mildly interested. But I can't ever let it get deeper than that because I'll start reading too deeply into things...or not deeply enough.

Besides, I just don't think I have much to offer anyway. My thoughts aren't "Wow I'd really like to date them!" it's more like "...what the hell would they ever see in ME?..."

~nods~ Yeah, same here. Honestly I've just resigned myself to the fact that I'll never have anyone in my life, I've learned to live with it.

Thanks! The cleanup was simultaneously easy and hard. I knew what I had to do... but holy cow did it take longer than I thought. LoL. And my arms and legs are so sore now...
